Plenty of threads and posts asking to take Magic weekend back to Cardiff (easier access to pubs and stadim, better atmosphere etc). RFL apparently listen and move the event back to Millenium stadium and everyone is up in arms.
Plenty of threads and posts asking for there to be some kind of big event to start the season thus getting rid of the staggered start we've had in the past. Again the RFL apparently listen and announce that the opening round will be played on the same weekend at the same magnificent rugby stadium, yet people are still not happy.

Did anyone on those threads actually ask for Cardiff in feb?

I'd have loved a Magic style opening weekend somewhere like Eastlands or Anfield, but no football club is going to let us near their pitch in February.
The tickets will be cheap again, but I fear the hotel prices will put many off. I was going to fly in to Bristol, get the train up to Cardiff then fly back to Girona from Liverpool on the Monday, but if some of those hotel prices are true it will be too much for me.
