| Quote: Paul Youane "Quote: Paul Youane "Just read Bilko's match preview and noted the frightening ( but unsurprising) statistic about Bentham. Wigan have won only 7 and lost 14 of the 21 matches he has refereed.
When one considers Wigan's record in the past 10 years ( apart from 2006), ie they have won more matches than they have lost, then one must wonder why there is such a discrepancy.
The statistics with Ganson, who we often criticise, refereeing are very different and perhaps what one might expect from a team who win more than they lose
So approxiametely with Ganson the win to loss ratio is 2
No they shouldn't! The fact remains Wigan have consistently been one of the better teams in the past 10-15 years of SL, despite not winning much silverware. This is always shown by the Sky match statistics at the start of a game - I'm pretty certain Wigan have even a better win/loss record against Saints and Leeds in this period! You will thus see that Wigan's win/loss ratio is similar to Ganson's for all referees ( apart from Alibert where I think we've got a 100% win ratio!)
It is only with Bentham that there is the huge discrepancy.

aboveusonlypie...
If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

No, only Wigan fans do that - someone even started YET another thread on Southstander about this board in relation to this thread, without recognising that
1. It's 5 years old.
2. Since it was reopened more Leeds fans have posted on it than Wigan fans.
3. That 53 page James Child thread.

| Blame me - for starting it in 2010 and then starting it again 5 years later!
Everyone is entitled to form his or her own opinion about some of the VR decisions the last 2 months of the season. Some might see there is a common denominator or even several.
I said, though, a couple of pages ago it is time to put it to bed.....!
