Quote: Steve Ella's Beard "Ask Eamon O'Carroll for a start, or Eorl Crabtree when Morley tried to smash him and got put on his arris.
Things happen to all players in the right (or more accurately wrong) set of circumstances. Harrison didn't one on one 'bounce' Fielden, Stu took hitup after hitup into 3/4 big defenders going all guns blazing on him - one of those hits ups resulted into Harrison's shoulder impacting with a great deal of force into Stu's chin (Harrison wasn't first man tackling, Stu had been 'teed up').
Unsuprisingly after a shot like that (which required him leaving the field of play and being assessed by the doctor) his game wasn't as good as prior to that shot - although he still did a big shift in defence.
Morley, Peacock, Vella, Graham, anybody flesh and blood, would have been reeling from that Harrison hit and also been unable to prevent it. It's just one of those things that happens in a Rugby match. I played prop all throughout school, flattened plenty of people, been flattened in situations to, never once did I think a situation like on Friday was either them or myself being soft and getting dominated, and neither did the people I played against.
It's a seriously tough sport, and I can respect all the players playing it - there's far less physically demanding ways to earn a living'"
So because Morley caught an unintentional knock to the face which broke his cheekbone he was outplayed by OCarrol, and because he bounced of Crabtree on a single occassion, afterwards getting up to try again, he was crumbled then as well?
Eddie summed Fielden up perfectly on the night after he took the knock "If he was a boxer youd have to question his chin"
