| The greatest try scorer in the history of the game played for the wire as did the first man to win the lance todd trophy twice. These 'small club' jibes don't really wash with me, although i will be the first to admit that if you use these forums as a guide warrington appears to have a high percentage of clueless fans.

Brian Bevan, Laurie Gilfedder, Parry Gordon, John Bevan, Jim Challinor etc'"

| Lets be honest some of those posters are teenagers so they are just posting their favourite players on there, if there was a thread about peoples all time top Wigan teams then you'd get some teenagers who've never seen Offiah, Boston, Gene Miles and co putting Amos Roberts, Pat Richards, George Carmont on it.
If a true list of 'all time greatest' in each position was produced then most teams would have a team of greats in every position and Warrington are no different. Unlike Wigan however we have not had an era where lots of greats played together like the Wigan of late 80s early 90s, our best days were in the 1950s were there won't be many rlfans users around who remember them.

| Quote: Smalls "Great players yes but if Andrew Johns had played 4 games for Wigan would we class him as a legend. If any of those 5 had the same scenario but with us instead of Warrington. None would get near our greatest team in my opinion.Alan Langer is a Brisbane legend,Johns-Newcastle,J Davies-More so Widnes,Sculthorpe played at Saints most of his career and I still doubt alot of fans would class him as a Saints legend. Warrington are trying to pinch other clubs legends
Davies won Man of Steel at Warrington which he never did with Widnes. Sculthorpe was class at Warrington during his formative years. I don't think the discussion was about who warrants the title of legends, it was people naming their all time top Warrington team

Your right in what you say.I suppose I was just thinking that if Wigan had a greatest team it would be mostly all club legends. I didn't scan through the whole thread,I was going off the first post/team. It made me realise even more what a big club is.
