| Some former players into the mix...
Paul Newlove. A total coward who always declared himself unavailable for test matches, presumably being arrogant enough to assume he would be selected. And that's before I get started on his complete unwillingness to tackle people.
Les Boyd. His record speaks for itself. Got a 12 month ban for biting, followed by an 18 month ban for gouging. He then comes over here to play for Warrington and proceeded to try and maim and injure every opposing player he came into contact with. His saving grace, however, is the fact that he often came a cropper, not least when he tried to land an uppercut on Steve Hampson, who saw it coming and deflected the punch, resulting in Boyd knocking himself out.
Paul Cullen. Thought nothing of headhunting, punching, tripping and everything else a 1980s Warrington player would do, and was prone to spitting his dummy out. Celebrated like a kangarooo on speed when he scored tries, and then when he retires, tries to distance himself from his thuggish image by evidently swallowing a dictionary and wearing suits.
Personally, I don't feel that there are any current players who warrant 'hate' status, because compared to the players of old, they're all robots with no personality.

| Can't believe Jason Demetriou hasn't had a shout. Seems a nice guy off the field but a right niggler on it. Also, if you widen the debate beyond Superleague, the March brothers take it by a mile IMO.

| James Graham. I used to rate him highly, and I suppose, he is one of the leading forwards in the game. But watching his pathetic antics' after their game against Leeds last summer brought him down in my estimations. Big time. Yes, it was a tough match, with plenty of biff! But to act in that way when you're a former Man of Steel and I supposed ultra Professional is rather ridiculous.
If he ever does go to the NRL, god help him. He won't shake a hand all year!

| I'm surprised no one (opposition fans, at least) has mentioned Skerret.
leon pryce is probably the most consistently dirty player I've seen.
