| It was ill-discipline that lost that game for us. All the players put their heart and soul into it. But for me in the end it was giving away stupid penalties in attacking positions. Prescott always seems to make some silly errors, and Coley was a complete idiot, first knocking on then showing petulance in kicking the ball out. Sam Tomkins is a great talent, but he needs to learn how to have poise in big game moments. Still as Jonathon Davies said, we were dominant for most that game - in dry conditions I think we will beat them, when next we meet. Great game though - real edge of the seat stuff. The refree called a good game, so I don't think we can use that as an excuse. The Farrell call could have gone either way - maybe slightly harsh in calling a sin bin. Also thought our defense was terrific - shame about the end, but that is sport.

| For me today showed where we lacked and Leeds gained - the forwards. Props especially. As someone else has mentioned Prescott was poor at times, Fielden did OK but as Feka wasn't playing it fell on Fielden to be one of our main go forward forward's. Unfortunately Leeds' pack were making more ground and putting in the bigger defensive hits than us. Great effort by the team in general. I just felt that going for goal so often was the wrong option, at times I wanted Wigan to kick it into thier corner and attack from there off penalties. Ill discipline crept in and silly mistakes, one of those games today. So close yet so far, now lets concentrate on bringing the SL title back to the DW Stadium.
We lost yes but there is some positives to take from the game, as well as lessons to be learned and today showed where we really are weak.

Just hope Madge is telling every single one of them how proud he is of the effort they put in.'"
Honest question here, I aren't trolling. Does it worry you that you didn't manage to put the game away? We were far from our best but was that close to your best? Or is it more pride at the effort rather than the performance?

| As soon as Peacock came on, Leeds lifted. Feka is the only prob we have who can have that effect, but in today's conditions he could have been a liability. We could have done with a Moi Moi

TBF I think it was the same for both teams, neither could put either one away. Wigan scored a penalty, Leeds scored a penalty.
The Lee Smith try was well taken and IMHO was due to come soon. A silly Prescott penalty, some superb Peacock defense and then an Amos knock on - I think most people watching either at Headingly or at home knew what was about to happen. Had it been the other way around and Wigan had gained at Leeds' expense in the same way, I'm sure the outcome would of been a Wigan try.
Well done to both teams on what was a bad day in horrible conditions for RL. I think both teams were evenly matched and that reflected in the scoreline at times.

| Quote Mother Feka="Mother Feka"but well done to every single one of them, they didnt deserve to be on the losing team, the ref was questionable to say the least, IMO Leeds could have seen 2 red cards if a ref with balls was in charge but they didnt even see yellow.
It hurts alot more losing this year than it has done for a long time which says alot about how we have progressed, put it all in the past concentrate on the league and we will get the yorkshire b@stards in the playoffs
'"
What was questionable about the ref?
The best team lost today but give leeds a pat on the back for their win, thats why they are the champs.

I can't say we played our best - there were too many mistakes, regardless of the conditions. However, the all-round effort from the Wigan side was admirable in my opinion.
You win some, you lose some. And as I said before, it doesn't hurt as much if you lose bravely and well. Last year's semi, and the semi the year before that against Catalan, when we simply lay down and died, were much, much worse.

| Fair enough guys. I didn't think either team were at their best. The conditions ensured that. Both teams put in 100% though and will all sleep well tonight

Not sure you can say that. Once Roberts gets into match fitness and we balance our attack a bit more, and hopefully Sam Tomkins learns to be a bit more patient in big game moments, I think this side has at least another gear or two to go. I thought our defence was terrific. If we keep that up, cut out the stupid penalties, I think we have a really good chance of going to the Grand Final and winning it this year. That is not arrogance, just me being confident in what I see our team producing.

I thought the same, Leeds showed that they didn't fancy their chances of scoring the try early on by going for two a few times. I thought that at times we had some go forward and a kick to the corner and a set on their line could have got us a try or two. But it works both ways, had we not got the try, we would have slated them for not taking the two.
