For example look at how the fortunes of Pryce and Phelps have changed over the past few weeks and how that has possibly changed the way we look at recruitment for next season.
That being said I’ve yet to see a quality Aussie/Kiwi come over to the UK on a deal they signed at the end part of the season. The top players like Trent, Lyon, Fletcher, Buderus, Webb, Crocker etc were all signed mid season.
If we are looking at a top player we need to be securing their signatures around this time.
The longer it lasts the less likely the chance we’ll be signing a quality player becomes.'"
That's very true and an excellent point.
Phelps looked like he would for sure be in our plans for next year and all of a sudden now it looks like he's heading for the door as the last few games it has been said that he is struggling with a groin injury but I highly doubt it to be honest, I think he's just been dropped.
Pryce for most of the season couldn't get near the first team and had to settle for keeping fit with the under 20's, then when given his first chance under Maguire he seems to have taken the chance with both hands and is in free scoring form. Okay all 4 of his tried against Crusaders were walk in tried, but you can fault a winger for doing that, that's what they are there for.
Now the fortunes are reversed and on current form it would be wrong to let big Karl go.
