You could have a bit of a wait. I believe the Sunday licensing laws in Edinburgh don't let pubs open before 12:30 !!

| Fans of Ian Rankin's Rebus should have a pint of Deuchers IPA in the Ox. The Oxford Bar is on a little street parallel to George Street off Charlotte Square.

Correct. Its Scotland wide and includes off licences and supermarkets so if your travelling to the game from anywhere on the sunday am make sure youve stocked up with ale the day before! I expect the supermarkets of portobello and seton sands will be sold out come saturday afternoon

| Having lived between Edinburgh and London for three years, some of the best boozers I found are on streets that go off George Street and Rose Street. A couple of minutes from the tourists traps and you'll find loads of crackin' boozers.
Thankfully Edinburgh is also sophisticated enough to have plenty of wine bars.

Yep, I moved up to Edinburgh a few months back, and live on Thistle Street just off George Street and there are some cracking pubs around there and off Hanover Street etc.
Rose Street is good and I expect a fair few RL fans down there, but I also like round the East of Princes Street near the Hilton Caledonian. There are a couple of bars down there that are a bit nicer and do some great beer if you fancy a change from Rose Street.
It really depends what you want, and there is a great mix of cellar pubs/bars, trendy cocktail bars and old style pubs.

| For those of a real ale persuasion, I'd recommend Mather's which is somewhere between Leith Walk and Princes Street, not far from Rose Street in fact if my drunken memory serves me right.
