To Wigan, winning the cup is nice.
Actually, it's VERY nice.
But it doesn't mean it's been a successful year.

If we repeated your year, winning the cup but finishing OUTSIDE of the play-off places, I don't think many on here would call that success.

To lift the cup, you only have to win 4 matches.

I'd rather play consistently well enough to finish in the top 2/3 of the league and still have a shot at the cup as a consolation if we don't get 1st or the GF.

Don't get me wrong - I'd love to lift the cup this year, but NOT if it's at the expense of the league, and I CERTAINLY would not trade it for finishing 1-3 in the league.

i would call wining the challenge cup a succesful year as we have won sod all for years. would prefere to win gran final though

Id take a winning the Cup every year granted we was crap in the league but it was a weird season we was bottom of the league after 3-4 games and Smith had to turn everything around it turned out that we couldn't compete on both levels last season.

There only two Cups on offer we got one thats a success to me.

And its 5 to win the Cup as you found out last season its not that easy.

And the Irony is you should never have beaten Hull KR in the previous round.
