This should put the rumour to bed for another year with regards to us being 'turfed out'.

Heard Mark Lawrenson mentioning this on Radio 5 on the way home. Part of the problem is that a lot of fottball journalists still haven't realised that RL is a summer sport, so assume that we play on it all winter & are therefore responsible for the state of the pitch. Whereas, as has already been mentioned, the pitch was in a bad state before we even played Catalans.

I also don't think Cruncher & the rest of us have an inferiority complex re. Latics - if anything we have the opposite - it's just that it's tedious to keep hearing that we're responsible for the state of the pitch every year. Even when we've not played on it. It just adds fuel to the moronic DW's fire in justifying moving any of our games at a whim. I can just see the Latics response if they weren't allowed to play crucial matches at home, and they'd be justified.
