However, the general point is taken. There's no reason to keep arguing about this. Noble has gone and, for the moment at least, and thank God for it, Ian Lenagan has managed to inject some optimism into the club. Time will tell whether those who are determined to look on the glum side are vindicated.

Although one season to judge would be harsh three and a half is too generous. Noble took over a club at rock bottom, MM is inheriting a much healthier club both on and off the field.

I get the feeling that this thread is going to disappear up someone's backside as has sadly happened with many other threads.

As I said before, only time will settle this argument. But anyone coming on here shouting triumphantly if Wigan don't win anything next season will get short shrift from me. As you say, that would be way too soon.

So the assistant ooach at the NRL grand finalists who has een openly accredited with most of their attacking plays, as well as having sole charge of the team for a significant portion of the season is an 'unknown'? As for a player that graced your own, all-conquering team for over a decade and then went on to coach through the grades, taking the resreve side on a year-long, unbeaten run to eventual Grand Final Winners this year....

2 unknowns as in first grade/head coach coaching terms.

It is fair to say that these two are both unknown quantitys when it comes to head and assistant coach. This is new territory for both of them or are you trying to say they are both tried and tested?

Is it really so hard to understand such a simple thing?

As for Latics i have no idea why you bring them up as i hate football.

If the team has been as poorly coached as you and others have made out then surely in one years time we should see big improvements.

You cannot have your cake and eat it too. Noble has got us within 80 minutes of 5 finals (maybe 6?) in his time here and that was with what many people have described as clueless or poor coaching. If Noble was this terrible coach that many have made out then i expect to see big strides by this time next year. After all, they must at least equal Noble and reach both semi's next otherwise they will surely of failed wont they?

No one has put any fact to me to say that MM and Sean Wane are proven first team coaches.

Yes they seem like they can take the next step but so have many other coaches in the past and ended up being big disappointments.

I fail to see how that is moaning.

What i want to see is this big improvement that the Noble bashers said we would see with a new coach. My argument and the other ones who supported Noble was that the actual team is not quite good enough rather than the coach being poor.

I think its very fair to expect MM and Wane to at least equal Nobles acheivements of getting to both semi finals next year. I am not asking for them to win anything but anything less than what Noble did not only last year but also in his first season with us has got to be a seen as failure IMO.
