The same McIlorum who was declared a future GB hooker by everyone on here after his first appearance?

Yes, IL isn't going to release Piggy as he is on a nice whack and will cost too much, i'd rather keep Tommy at 7 myself but after all the majority are saying Tommy to 9 so IMo it will b MM who will go if this happens

| Isn't MM in the first year of a 3 year deal?
Tommy played better at 9 tonight than 7, or better when Piggy was off.
Piggy was awful in his first stint and not much better later on.
Yes we need a half back but why when we've needed one for 2 years does anyone think IL will buy one now when we are getting a new coach?
It will be intersting to see if IL does go and buy the players we've needed for so long now we have a new coach on Wednesday.

| People might rip me for this but here goes.
I think the edge we missed was just that extra wide pass and little bit of organisation in the attacking line, the man for the job would of been Tim Smith. Had he been playing we could of scored a few in the last few mins.

We'd have been ripped apart in defence though tonight i think with him in the team. These tough, bruising encounters are not when Tim Smith shines, he's fantastic when your team is on top, whereas tonight was an arm-wrestle of a match which i think he'd have struggled as much as anyone to make an impact.

Although I agree with you Smith could bring that little bi extra to the party, he was also a liability in defence. No ripping, good point, I sometimes feel that up close to the line we rely on individual magic rather than organised passing moves. The one incident was on the 5th it was left to Fielden to put the kick in (wasn't a bad kick), but he aint no Andy Farrell its should have been a set play. That what we still lack a cool head and a proper game organiser. That was what Smith was. (Just crap in defence though).

| If we are going to point the finger at the halves think Golden Boy Tomkins came up with some poor plays tonight.
Wonder if TL came from Wigan he would get the same stick.
For 60 minutes he was the most effective half for Wigan.
I am happy with him at 7, long may it continue in my opinion.

Tomkins gets let off because he is a Wigan lad and he is still not very experienced. I don't want to give any stick to our best prospect for a very long time so long may it continue. Leuluai is meant to be the finished article but Tomkins is not expected to be.
