I've not read that article, and frankly I can't be bothered reading it. But there's a generally perceived wisdom that it's best not to take seriously anything Sean Long says.

Skilled player or not, his antics (in very recent times, not just when he was a kid) have brought embarrassment to the game as a whole. That's not something you can say Brian Noble has ever done.

Sorry - for some reason I thought that Noble was involved in the approach. The article doesn't say this.
