Quote philukleeds="philukleeds"Dont you mean cunningham still had the ball in his possesion rather than the ball being in kicked down field. because when sargent hit tomkins the ball was still in play.
So basically you condone someone going to injury a fellow pro as long as he still has the ball.
Very Classy of you.
You must condone what david howell did to tomkins then cos he still had the ball when howell belted him.'"
Congratulations - In the space of four sentences you have proved beyond all doubt that you know nothing about the game.
Sargent's shot was deliberate, late and high. If you have ever played the game you would know that there is a line you do not cross, and that late tackles on a player not (or no longer) in posession are out of order.
Based on your argument about the ball being in play we should be employing NFL style blockers.
If the RFL disciplinary panel have any balls Sargent will not play again this season.
Still, Sam had the last laugh. When Tomkins is leading the GB team out Sargent will be back in his rightful place, probably driving taxis or barrowing in for a living.
