| Quote wigan pie man="wigan pie man"well your stupid then, as in my experience outsiders trying to intervene just inflame matters.
you should keep your nose out and let em get on with it.......especially if drinks involved.

Remember that if you're ever unfortunate enough to get attacked and everyone just walks by and leaves you to get on with it!!!
I on the other hand would rather intervene than stand back and watch someone get their head kicked in.

There are surely better ways to try to help the situation (such as sending for proper help) than trying to step in yourself and put yourself and others at more risk by doing so.
The first rule of first aid and any sort of emergency response is always to check for danger and first thing there has to be danger to yourself.
Every situation has to be taken on its own merits but most of the time the risk of stepping in outweigh the benefits.

Why do women insist in getting involved in such things. (i am of course assuming you are female.)
A man i knew did exactly that once, didnt know the lad who was involved, but it was two on one. My mate was the one who ended up in a pine box.
Moral of the storey, walk away.

I appreciate your concern for my well being
I don't wander around Warrington Town Centre on a Saturday night trying to play the good samaritan all I'm saying is I would rather intervene than stand back and watch someone get hurt. I understand that it may not be the best option all the time, however the times it has happened, which are few and far between, there hasn't been the opportunity to get proper help

I'm sorry to hear that alot of the time the wrong person does end up injured or worse however alot of the time it's better for a woman to step in as they're more likely to be able to diffuse the situation. Men (no offence to 99% of people on this board) tend to make things worse!

| I still stand by the fact that anyone who steps into a probably booze fuelled situation without training in how to help (ie the police) and without knowing the context of what has occurred previously is taking a very big risk.
Its not about not caring or not wanting to help its about common sense - and at the end of the day what help are you going to be to anyone if you have been stabbed/beaten up etc etc yourself, and you just make the job for the professionals even harder when they arrive.

Its a sad fact of life, that sometimes its better to walk away man woman, whatever.
I understand where your coming from, but i still think its best to leave them to it. Especially as it seams everyday some poor sod has been stabbed, slashed, shot, over almost nothing.

It will be "ban central" in both forums, it seems bith sets if fans target the other as neither can have a pop at Saints at the minute, although you have actually beaten them since Take That reformed.

ive read all the posts following this , and most seem to agree with me.
however......theres always going to be someone ( like yourself), who has to interfere ( do gooders i call em).
do what others have suggested....get proffessional help, but walk away , or one day you may get caught up in summat you cant handle.
like the 2 wire players should have walked away and left it.
