| Personally I wouldn't like to move the backline round to much from number 1-5, past few games, they've seemed to bond well and all seem to play their prefered positions.
So keep
1 - Phelps
2 - Roberts
3 - Gleeson/Pryce
4 - Carmont/Pyrce
5 - Richards
Moving on to the 6 and 7 area. With Macca now being out of the frame for up to 8weeks, I suppose this means Tommy will be moved into the 9 area, interchanging with Riddell. From the start I'd expect Tommy to play the whole 80mins, starting games with.
6 - S. Tomkins
7 - Leulaui
9 - Riddell
Big risk, but would anyone give Stefan Marsh ago at the big time? Start him on the bench, after 20mins, introduce him to play.
6 - S. Marsh
7 - S. Tomkins
9 - Leulaui
I know it's a very very young 6/7/9 area at that point, but the bonds between Marsh and Tomkins are there from teh Reserves side.
The forward pack, I'm expecting Mossop to stay at Hudd. Giving Farrell and Flan ago.
8 - Coley
9 - Riddell
10 - Prescott
11 - Bailey
12 - J. Tomkins
13 - Flanagan
This is what Flanagan as been waiting for, not saying he's been waiting for Locker's to hurt himself, but the opportunity to show himself in the squad, about time he got ago. Farrell to come off the bench.
Bench being
Feka
Fielden
Farrell
Marsh

Absoultly no chance that we should play Marsh, IMO Flanagan, Phelps, Roberts and Lockers are all ahead of him to play 6 atm if needed.
Flanagan should play 6 IMO.
Bring Farrell in at SR and play Tomkins at 13.
Get Mossop back from Loan. Hudds are dropping off the pace now, he will get more experience playing with us IMO.

Understand were your coming from. Flan is ok at 6 in the reserves, pressure isn't applied as quick. In SL, he isn't quick enough. IMO
I also feel Farrell is a sencond rower to come off the bench, isn't ready to start SL games, introduce him after the players he's against have already taken 20minutes of beasting. Not good enough yet to start against experienced, fresh second rowers.
As I said Phelps and Roberts need to stay were they are, they are getting use to their areas more and more every game. But for the one game, why not give him ago? If it doesn't work, play Phelps, Roberts, Gleeson at 6.

| I would go with:
1- Phelps
2- Roberts
3- Gleeson (if not Pryce)
4- Carmont
5- Richards
6- Tomkins
7- Leuluai
8- Coley
9- Riddell
10- Prescott
11- Bailey
12- Tomkins
13- Flanagan
Paleasina
Fielden
Farrel
?
Got one place left on the bench, and wouldn't want to bring back Goulding or Mossop.

It doesn't matter how quick he is really, he has enough pace to play 6 IMO. It's about how quick and well he moves the ball on in the line, which he does very well.
If we were where saints are now then I might say yes give him a shot but we cannot afford to play him and end up having that as part of the reason we lost to change it the next week. We need to win all our games from now on, we have no second chances left for this season. We also need as much consistancy as possible and atm we are winning so keep it as consistant as possible and if we absolutely have to, then move one of the players I mentioned to 6 as cover.
If we really wanted to bring in a young player at this time for a game then I would say leave Leuluai and Sam in the halves and bring Logan Tomkins in for 1 game as his position has a lower risk to it. Having a 6 with a bad game on the field could lose you the game but with a hooker it's a little different.

Logan Tomkins is a Junior!
He's only made 4 apps for the Resevres, 2 being off the bench.
Either Joe Mellor (SH) or Stefan Marsh (SH/LC), should get ago, between them they've scored 15 tries in 19 apps in the reserves.

It's lower risk playing a hooker than a 6 IMO though.

Playing anyone in any position at such a young age is a huge risk.
I.e Aniscough, S. Tomkins most recently.
Playing Flan and Farrell will be a risk, some might not think it is, but believe me it will be!

| Marsh is a centre or winger not a 6.
I think he would make a very good fullback.
Far too early for first team yet. Ian Thornley could do a job at centre but he is also too young at this time.

We may have no choice!
Besides, they have to get a chance sometime, they have been ripping it up in the reserves - leave them there too long without a sniff of the first team and they are going to be frustrated or lose enthusiasm. Sometimes the action that it is forced upon a coach is the one that pays dividends in the future - if they can cover for 3/4 games thats fine, then if we don't see them again until next year at least its a bit of experience and they'll know the areas that they need to work on to secure regular first team places.
Too early for Logan Tomkins - Joe Mellor, Stefan Marsh or Sam Gee should be considered if required well before him.

Briscoe will come back to Wigan as a long term full-back so he will not be playing there for Wigan I don't think.
I do not think playing Flanagan and Farrell is a big risk.
