yes sam wants to play for his hometown club....but the reason he has extended his contract is bcos hes been offered more money....and fair play to the lad he really deserves it....and also a regular place in the 1st team.....its bout time wigan started to reward local talent....and stopped wasting big money on these aussies...take note mr lenegen

Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good

You are probably right thay Myler has had more good games, afterall he is Salfords main man and has played pretty much every game. Tomkins has been dropped and played off the bench alot so I do agree there but only because Myler has had more chance to show what he is made of, it is silly to say one is better than the other IMO. To say that Tomkins has only had one good game is just stupid.
And bearing in mind in total (including CC) Tomkins has started 9 and been off the bench for 6.

Those stats certainly show up the peceived defensive frailties of Myler in comparison to Sam. Good player though Myler. Needs to work on that aspect of his game if he is going to fulfill his potential.
