Quote: jjb10 "This might come under a different heading and I am by no means defending Noble here, but since IL has been in charge we seem to be washing a lot of our clothes in public. Information is being leeked to the press a lot more than it used too. Who we are going too sign, lack of sponsors, managers future, his rant at the players last year, etc. Even the result of Gaz Hocks a sample (isn't it common practice to release the full result's after the b samplenot before). I just feel for a successful business man he hasn't got an idea about how to run a RL club, pretty much like Mike Ashley doesn't have the brain's to run a football club.'"
I'd say the opposite and say nothing has really come out in public.
What information is being leaked to the press? Of that which you mentioned:
Who we are going to sign: we haven't signed anyone and we don't know who we are going to sign. I don't even think the club themselves know who we are going to sign. Rumours are bound to go around, however, ultimately all most rumours prove is that know one knows.
Lack of sponsors: can't really hide that can you? It isn't like there was an announcement from the club saying "we can't get a sponsor" was there. It was obvious we were looking for a new sponsor because we didn't want to be linked with the JJb anymore, and plus Lenegan got an excellent deal with Mecca.
Managers future: as with sponsor, it's something the club cannot hide; Noble is out of contract, we haven't renewed his contract therefore it's obvious we are looking elsewhere. This thread has in fact proved that no one has a clue what's going on 'in house'.
Rant at the players: that, in my opinion, should have come out into the public. It wasn't in detail i.e. X told to get fitter, Y told to grow some balls etc. but the fans needed to know that something was being done to try and correct the attitude of the players.
Hock's A sample: it was the RFL who made the announcement. I'd be very surprised if Wigan had any say in the timing of the announcement. And also, didn't we have every right to know?
I don't think Lenegan is above criticism, far from it, however I'd say the examples you gave were poor, and in fact portray him as more than a competent business man who is far superior to Mike Ashley.
