What I did find interesting about the IL interview was the fact that he'd had meetings with Wayne Bennett and Graham Murray regarding our possible targets. He'd discussed a few players with them and been warned off for whatever reasons. It's good that we're tapping into 2 experienced and respected coaches knowledge base.
IL said he'd been advised against some players by these 2. Now this may be me putting 2+2 together and coming up with 5 but hasn't Carl Webb worked under both these coaches?

I'm glad Lenagan is having meetings with those sorts of characters about players and not just going off his own eyes.
With all due respect he knows no more then the average poster on here about NRL players and i wouldn't like to think we'd let anybody off here go and sign our overseas players  |

I still can't fathom what the Aussie clubs gain from such an arrangement.

You will have to explain to me what you mean. Who is doing the "unearthing"? Us and we then send them to Aus - so I still don't see what the Aus team gains from this.
Or we send a few kids and the Aussie side unearths one of them as a talented player, but given this player would still be our player I still don't see what the Aus club gains by doing so.
