3632_1352982335.jpg Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery.......
I will look to the moment, and miraculously, the future will take care of itself.
Radio 5 Live, Sat, April 14th, 2007,...Dave Whelan, "In Wigan, rugby will always be king"
'I was certain, positive, convinced, and yet..........unsure'
'It's only rock 'n' roll, but I like it'

I remember him scoring two tries in a match winning performance in an evening game v Saints at Knowsley Road.
He beat Murphy for both tries.
It was probably the 1964 - 65 season.

| An alternative selection i admit but one based on character!
1. Jamie Ainscough - The head attack on Martin Gleeson will live long in the memory, so will the try he scored in the same game and the interception that sealed the challenge cup for Wigan. However details of the speech that he gave before the Challenge Cup game are legendary.
Newcastle coach Mal Reilly reckoned he had more potential than Andrew Johns at the same age but Jamie chose the beer & cigarettes over training and thus ended up at Wigan where he continued to smoke whilst other players trained.
Jamie genuinley didnt know who Wigan where playing week after week and his care free approach didnt adhere him to most fans but that somehow made him even more of a legend in my eyes.
2. Dean Bell - Hard as nails, not a lot more to say on this man!
3. Luke Davico - His career lasted only a couple of minutes but for reasons i cant mention on here he gets third place!
4. Brett Dallas - Bravery award - played his heart out every week.
5. Jason Robinson - Most entertaining player to watch ever.
