It Did!
We negotiated a "Back Heavy" contract meaning he got most of his money in year 3.
Wigan were happy to do this as they were struggling with the cap in year 1&2 of his contract.
for example - instead of getting 150k x 3 years
He got 100k - 100k - 200k
When the decision was made to leave after 2 years he (Rightly IMO) should have had 2/3rds of his money paid to him when he in fact had been paid less than half of his 2 year wage.
This meant instead of having paid him 300k for 2 years we had paid him only 200k.
This meant that we had to pay him the extra 100k this year.

The numbers I have quoted above are only Hypothetical but I do know that it is quite a substantial amount "Hung Over" that we have had to pay him.
