the reason ainscough hasnt been picked for the first team is because he has played nine games and if he plays a tenth game he will be counted on the salary cap and put us over the limit

Terrible effort on numerous counts.

He counted after 5 games.

With IL running the shop I can't see any slip ups with the salary crap!

He counted after one. As soon as player on a clubs books plays one salary cap qualifying game he counts on the cap.

He is given a salary cap value and if that makes him one of the top 25 earners then he counts against the main cap limit of £1.6m

If he isn't one of the top 25 earners he counts against a separate and much smaller £50K limit designed to allow young players to be brought into the 1st team.

If a player does not play any salary cap qualifying games then his wages don't could at all. That is what happened with Pryce last season.

So as soon as Ainscough played a single SL game his salary cap value was added to our total wage bill.
