Surprised that you have not mentioned that Billy McGinty was twice the player he is.

No desire!! It's unforgivable.

A look at the stats shows Fielden is doing ok.
The main problem is that for the money you signed him for he shouldnt just be doing ok. He should be in the same yardage league as Graham and Peacock.
There are plenty worse props in SL but plenty better at present.
Comparison with Coley below:-

| He was poor on Thursday and not good today - but then not many were good today. I think he currently has two problems - he's always been a confidence player and that is shot, and he's not carrying the weight to make an impact these days - I also think he knows it and that's why he's not committing as hard. He seems to be trying but without the belief he can actually carry out the big hits or busts like he used to.
Yes, he often stops as he hits the line - he's trying to bounce the tackler, and it does work sometimes - we've seen him throw players around for fun occasionally. Problem is unless it's spot on, you just become a stationary target.
However - he's still partly carrying our front row. We have Coley - a decent workhorse, Feka - a luxury but a short-term impact player, Prescott - rate him highly but still young for a prop, O'Carroll - another prospect but also young for a prop. We have one impact player and Fielden trying to be the enforcer he used to be, but without the confidence, surrounding pack or relative size of old.
He also seems to be a bit of a loner - and whether that's acceptable in a struggling team I'm not sure. I've always backed him and still think he can cut it, but he needs to bulk up and his confidence is an issue.

The fact that Fielden is still partly carrying our front row tells you just how poor the rest of the front row is. That is the reason Noble cannot drop him because it will just weaken an already awful front row even more.
