| Quote gpartin="gpartin"Can't believe some people think Riddell was good... proves people only see what they want to see. All he did was a couple of runs, a bit of tackling (his good point) and a number of short flat predictable passes from dummy half. He performed well at Bradford so he's 1/6 so far. Are these the same people who gave undue criticism to Higham AFTER Noble had sold him??? Probably, if Higham had only played half a game and done so little he'd have been criticised every week (funnily enough, he never was until he left!!!)
As for anyone mentioning Riddell and leaving out Lulu well they really are talking tosh... watch the game again and compare the two and there is no comparison.... Leeds had two hookers out, we had two hookers in and the play the ball was one of the main areas in which we struggled, what does that tell you?'"
Have you read everyone's posts.
Bar one poster EVERYONE has picked Tommy in their top three. It would appear that it is you that has the agenda.

Not trolling but without Diskin & Buderus I think Riddell should have done a lot more on friday.

He can't play without the ball, and unfortunately, particularly during his during his first spell on the pitch, Wigan never had it.

| Hock had a blinkin' nightmare in the 1st half, although I think the ball was ripped on 2 occassions, again Smith missed this. We deserved to lose, but the ref was shocking.
In fairness to Gaz Hock though, he kept going. He's just that type of player, sometimes it all comes off and he looks awesome, other times the timing is a bit off and he drops it a lot.

Thats one more than there should be and I'm not in the business of picking out individual posters to name and shame..
One of the annoying things about this site is you make a point, and people ignore the jist of the post and focus on one part that suits THEIR agenda ....
Ok, I'll put it in simple terms... When did Wigan look like scoring??? late in the first half and early in the second I'd say.... When was Riddell NOT on the pitch????

| We haven't got Mickey Higham and I aren't claiming he is the best hooker in the world by any stretch of the imagination...
We need to concentrate on now, we aren't good enough at the play the ball and we've got a lazy Aussie for the next 3 years who takes up a chunk of the salary cap and has demonstrated how good a player he can be but in a hit and miss way. This is exactly what Wigan do not want when consistency has been our biggest problem. If he was serious about working hard he would have been fit when he arrived. I would love to be proved wrong but so far, 6 games into the season and having won only 2, the only evidence is pointing towards Piggy being another Aussie journeyman. I want him to prove me wrong and will admit it if I am. However for now I will stick to the main point of my original post that he was NOT by any stretch of the imagination one of the best players on Friday night.
