We're now ready to kick things on in Chester so anybody interested in getting involved with the club at any level to meet at The Oaklands in Chester this Thursday (27th March) at 7.00 PM. This initial meeting will allow us to form a committee, get to know each other and put some plans in place to take things forward.
We will be starting pre-season training next Thursday (4th April) at 7.00 PM on Hoole Park playing fields.
This first session will act as a further get to know you session and help us to identify our players and their experience levels. Everybody is welcome - whether you have bags of league experience, play mainly union or are a total newcomer. Come down and introduce yourselves; I'll be the portly one in a St Helens shirt.
I already have a couple of people interested in coaching; if anybody else is keen, again, please let me know.
BTW, it's 90% confirmed that our club name will be Chester Gladiators RLFC.

| Quote: JTB "The bloke I was speaking to from the RFl last week mentioned you may go into the conference regional next year from the Merit League Jim. Is that what you're doing? We're in 2 minds what to do as they don't seem to be able to give me firm plans of the league structures as yet.'"
Not at all mate. Haven't spoken to anybody from the RFL as yet and it's certainly not our plan. I think we'll give it a crack in 2010 but not yet.

I thought as much and that it was likely a year too soon for you guys. Hopefully we can run a 2nd team in the merit league next year even if we put a team in the conference and have another trip to Chester in the sunshine. ![Thumbs up icon_thumb.gif](images/smilies//icon_thumb.gif)

| Wigan Riversiders Eels will be playing Chester Gladiators in Chester this Saturday kicking off at 2pm at Chester RUFC. A few Chester based Wigan fans came down to give us support last year and will be most welcome again on Saturday. It's 2nd v 4th in the league table with the outcome important to both clubs with regard to playoff positions.
