I've heard world class used lightly before but that takes the biscuit. Josh Charnley isn't even a world class winger!

Hopefully the Matt Bowen rumour is true, with him we can ease Hampshire/Tierney into the spot for when he is ready to leave. Whilst they've never let us down in the games they have played, they are not ready for a full season in super league with the pressure of replacing Sam Tomkins. Bowen would be an excellent signing ala Hodgson when he signed for Huddersfield.

Bowen is an exceptional player on his day but signing him is a huge risk. Overseas players can take some time to settle into Super League. An overseas player carrying an injury almost certainly isn't going to settle.

Just look at Amos Roberts. Good player but arrived carrying an injury and didn't settle for a long time. Bowen's knees are only going to get worse and that's a massive issue.

Charnley will never be a full back. He doesn't have the brains or the vision to be a full back. He is a winger, he is a finisher, not a creator. We saw that at Huddersfield at the start of the season, it might have been his first time at fullback but it was clear that he shouldn't be in that position.

Bowen over Locke for me.

Sick of posts like this. 'Charnley will NEVER be a full back etc, doesn't have the smarts etc' How the hell can you possibly say that and write him off? Oh yeah cos he had one ify game there v Hudds.
Lets be realistic now, it's a position which takes some learning in the modern game, give the guy a real chance before making such strong comments.

Writing someone with such abilites off after one game is ridicolous.

No one has ever said anything about Locke coming to Wigan. People have put 2 and 2 together and got 4090590593045, mainly cos he's a NZW fb and Sam is off to NZW.

This thread might as well be 'who's the best replacment for Sam, Bowen or Thor?', discuss.

Kevin Locke wont be signing for you, Sam Tomkins will play FB and we'll move move Locke into the halves.

I think you should be more worried about Sam being 100% if he comes to you, than worry about Locke.
Sam has missed a lot of matches during the last 6/7 weeks and when he has played he looks a shadow of the player he was earlier in the season. Either the proposed move to NZW is weighing heavily on is mind, or he is carrying an injury.

Taking a massive hammer onto the field could cause all sorts for problems for the opposition.

For that reason Thor would be my choice.
