| Quote Cruncher="Cruncher"Do you know for a fact that they aren't?
As you say, the club is highly professional, so on that basis I'd expect there's a good probability they are.'"
I think with Josh he stuggles with composure when kicking, he doesn't seem to have a set routine when kicking goals. He seems okay from way out wide and bang in front, but, for some reason that middle 30 metres either side of the sticks he seems to struggle with. This should be priority, but, there is a major difference from kicking them in training and kicking them infront of 10,000+ people. He's still a young lad, not that i'm making excuses for him, but, he will only learn by getting more practice in.

| It's amazing how everybodies an expert on kicking techniques. When Pat had a spell of missing kicks I'm sure I heard a few people mentioning that he should be dropped?
Anyway, how comes Warrington have numerous players who can not only kick goals but kick them straight through the middle of the sticks?
Also, watch the 1972 world cup game on youtube between GB and the aussies, I'm sure its 100% success rate and most of them are out wide. They seem to use the Mal Meniga toe bunger technique. Its also amusing to see Stevo with hair!!

They missed 1. Then again, it was the old make a dint in the ground with your heel and place the ball in it. No kicking tee, not even sand!

How do you know they arent? Just because Charnley is not improving doesnt mean they are not trying to do something about it.

I'm certain they are; they're too professional not to. It just hasn't had time to work...yet.

I don't. I was responding to a poster who implied there wasn't much point in getting him a kicking coach as he doesn't look a natural kicker. So if the club are, then great , if not then whether or not he has a future as a goal kicker they need to do it even if it only leads to a small improvement as any improvement is going to be worth it.

Perhaps if you had worded this "Not addressing the issue is uncharacteristically unprofessional for Wigan"
"Not addressing the issue [uwould be [/uuncharacteristically unprofessional for Wigan" people may have not assumed you were being your usually negative self...

| A friend of mine watched the players train Orrell on Tuesday afternoon. Both the first team and U20's played a full-on match, the first team dressed in the Queensland Cowboys home kit, the U20's dressed in the Queensland Cowboys away kit. The U20's had been coached to play in the style of Catalans...so in effect the game was a mock "Wigan v Catalans" game, even down to the detail where Finch was shouting "Dureau" is mine...etc. This explains why they were wearing the kits (finch picture).
After the match, Josh spent twenty minutes with Harris and was knocking them over from in front of the posts and the touchline, he was struggling to kick the easier ones - 10/20 metres to the LHS/RHS side of the posts.
He was heard to say "I must just get nervous when it comes to the easier kicks that people expect me to convert, yet when it comes to the touchline ones, I feel more relaxed as I'm not expected to kick them".
Richards was light-training apparently, let's hope he's back soon.
