Quote Teessidewire="Teessidewire"Your big mistake was originally calling them the 'Ultra's,' which is a name for one of the most notorious football hooligan gangs in this country. For info, smoke bombs are illegal and flares are illegal, and dangerous, especially where there are large crowds, and anyone who thinks otherwise needs their head seeing to.
Named groups amongst spectators in sport tend to be seen as a hooligan element, even if they aren't. They are created with good intentions, but tend to attract the wrong type of person.'"
For example Wire's "Barmy Army?"
I know of someone from Warrington (who I believe is on this site and was in the thread that resulted in Wire Wonder's dismissal) who uses the "Barmy Army" as an excuse to be an apparent hooligan (he is a compulsive liar so I dont know if anything is true) however if you think that there has been any hooliganism then feel free to ask me his information etc and I will happily tell you who he is and they can investigate. Anyway it would seem that this "barmy army" is used as an excuse for hooligan behaviour can I ask if the group started in good will like Ultras or if its just non-existent and he's simply a compulsive liar?
