| Dan-The good thing for me at GP was the seats were a perfect fit for putting a bucket of VB under- 3 beers for each half
And a bucket to Pee in thus reducing the need for nipping off.
Oh those days hmmmmmmm

Black Backgrounds/Zoot.gif Freedom for supporters of the government, only for members of one party - however numerous they may be - is no freedom at all. freedom is always and exclusively for one who thinks differently.

| In the 'Independent' today, Dave Hadfield reckons that we're reverting to London Broncos next season. Does this mean we can keep Buck and Dusty?

| Quote: The Chronicler of Chiswic "In the 'Independent' today, Dave Hadfield reckons that we're reverting to London Broncos next season. Does this mean we can keep Buck and Dusty?'" not according to Gus Mackay, who told me personally that "they were associated with the failed Broncos". I reckon if we put enough pressure on, we could keep them, they didn't want to keep them when we first went to Quins and it is more logical to keep them.

| There seems to be a bit of a split here. David Hughes is on record as saying he likes the Broncos brand and hinted today he wants it back. Gus seems less convinced. Personally I'm with Gus, it is associated with a failed club, Broncos have no relevance in London and Broncos took 1.5m of taxpayers money south. Between the three I think we'd be better off with another name.
However, I will be buying a season ticket next season. David will be spending a million quid or so. Frankly he's entitled to call us what he wants.

| As someone mentioned earlier, 'London Sea Eagles' would seem to be appropriate and also has a nice ring to it.

| If there was anything totally brilliant and relevant someone would have suggested it by now, and the majority of others would have said, "great, that's what it ought to be". The fact that we're all still speculating and throwing suggestions around shows it's all a bit of a lottery really.
First of all we don't want anything that leads people to believe we might be playing a different sport. We were "Harlequins Rugby League", so I don't see why we can't be plain "London Rugby League". At least it leaves no room for doubt. ("London Thirteen" is my favourite unique suggestion I've heard made so far, as opposed to copying names from NRL clubs like Eels or Sea Eagles.)

| Judging by the last paragraph in the Indies piece about Rob yesterday, the name is a done deal.
Quote: "There are different times ahead for the Purdhams, back on the Cumbrian fells, with their first baby due on Christmas Eve. Rob will be taking a long-distance view of his former club, soon to be known once more as the London Broncos. He will not be there to see the harvest at first hand, but few have done more to sow the seeds.'"

| No it won't. Winning at home and not constantly being out of the game at H/T will result in better atmospheres. We'll be doing better next year, because we will actually have a better side. It has nothing to do with the name or pointless re-naming.

Of course that will make a difference, but it has been decided that there will be a change of name and it is time we all moved on, it is your opinion that it is pointless but then I an nearly 2,000 others who responded do not agree, for the good of the club lets move on and all accept it, I would have if a majority had decided they wanted to stay as quins.

| Think the argument has been done to death, but for me it's an almost sad decision if we do end up going back the LB "brand"..................it was what it was at a period in time when it meant something to those who were involved with it & in the places and conditions that were prevelant at that time. Looking back is not the right way to move forward IMO.
The name change in of itself will mean nothing if not supported like any brand is required to be, but chosing a new name would, if it has to be done, make far more sense to me than going back to LB, however much I/we loved it at that time.

'Cos next season half the team will be ex-Manley. Nothing wrong with that providing they can play a bit, and besides, anythings better than going back to 'Broncos'.

I liked it because I lived across the road from it.....short stagger to the Griffin post game and an equally short crawl home at closing time
