Quins RL want to draw some of the Quins RU support right ?
Im sure the Quins RU wouldn't mind nabbing a few Quins RL supporters too, right?
How do we get those stubborn sods that refuse to watch the other codes to watch each others games ?
It's obvious (end of season of course)
Quins RL v Quins RU
1 league match
1 union match
BATTLE OF THE CODES
market it to death around the area.
Would be good fun, it's a win win situation for the Quins money men'"
My idea of hell.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

| You lot are always discussing the subject of marketing on here so a little question
You are the clubs marketing manager
You have 2 staff and a fifty grand budget
What do you do with it ?
Blow it all in one big blow out to bring new fans in
Divide up over the season chipping away
The aim is normal walk through turnstyle fans not your corporate types
You have access to as many free tickets as you want

| Paddock saying whose end of season would be a debate would just show everyone how stubborn the RU lot really are. we would have to risk our players at the start of the season as we need the advertisement more but they would still be too stubborn to agree to it as they have got it all already.

| I'd give out posters to local businesses (shops, restaurants, cafes) in the surrounding area.
They would get new posters to display well in advance of each home game and as an incentive to display them would also be entered in a raffle draw to win a box for the game (and budget depending, other prizes).
The aim would be to both increase local awareness and also expose us to potential new sponsors.
Walk round our local area and you wouldn't even know we exist.
I know nothing of marketing, and I'm not sure if you could get this done with 50k.

Leaflet drops, including printing and distribution to 250,000 homes would pretty much do your £50k. The Volunteers used to do the "dropping" when we were in TW8 and that would save a few quid.
I suggested a framed fixture list in every pub in the area as well as posters in shops/cafes.
Lastly........and I may have mentioned it before.....CAN WE PLEASE SPONSOR TWICKENHAM STATION! Thousands of LOCAL people use it every day...........and they stand there waiting for trains. The Brit Oval sponsor vauxhall station.

In order to attract punters, it would need to be at the beginning of the RL season
Given that the 2 seasons overlap and - assuming Quins RU weren't in any playoffs or cup matches - the RU players would have a full season behind them (which already has more matches than an RL season) and given the same percentage of injuries that we have now, plus the already mentioned International commitments, what sort of match do you think you would get?
As a dual season ticket holder, it wouldn't interest me that much - you'd see 2 teams struggling to play the opposite game and winnig their own.
As I've said before, a lot of union supporters aren't interested in RL (for various reasons, before someone starts playing the "everyone hates us card"icon_wink.gif.
There are a number of RU supporters who see the summer as recovery time - to do all the things not done in the winter when supporting the RU team - as well as holidays and other summer sports (cricket, cycling etc)
I think the Quins RU catchment group is probably largely covered and while offering incentives such as the recent email campaign will bring in a few more, that's never going to be the bulk of any new support.

| As it was when we gave them all a free season ticket with their club memberships and moved our games to Sundays to accommodate them-they still didn't turn up.
Its old hat

Hey! You're using the wrong designer/printer if that's the case, 100k leaflets for about a grand or two plus a couple of hours to design so even 250k you'd have £45k+ change to spend on something else providing you could get volunteers to distribute.
I almost feel like doing this myself in the local area, even on 100k leaflets if you worked on getting 5% uptake you'd be on to a winner and smashing the 5k barrier!

It would take a lot of volunteers to shift that lot
Personally pubs, shops and Railway stations are best imo as they are 'in you face' so as to speak.
