Cannot see the Club surviving with that move. Thinking of the players........if they keep the current training grounds.....i.e. Roehampton and Feltham, and then bus them out for home fixtures.......then possibly.....if not........then the hope that both the 1st team squad and the youth players will travel to East Kent at least 3 times a week for training just isn't a realistic one.........madness I tell ya icon_smile.gif

I'm definitely glass half full.

I think it's brilliant that if we lose by less than 62 on Sunday we won't be bottom of the league.

Did the notion that they would train somewhere else nearer where they'd be based pop into your head. And that players would relocate like the ones that did from Charlton to Stoop to Charlton etc.

I travel more than that each day to and from work and it is another contributor of why I will not travel that far at weekends apart from the fact it will no long be LONDON Broncos. Another day of being on the road and costing a fortune in petrol holds no appeal for me. I want to go within a reasonable distance and watch a live game of RL but also have time in the day to do other mundane things at home

If the Broncos go to Kent, I hope a lot will follow me to support the LONDON Skolars in the Championship (hopefully) in 2014!

Moving to Kent would also cut in half the player pool. Youngsters from Medway, South London, Greenwich and possibly East London would be okay, but none of the kids from Hemel, St Albans, etc would travel all the way down to Gillingham three times a week for training and games. And kids from Wests and Elmbridge would struggle too.

And that's apart from losing the majority of current supporters.

Its relatively easy to move accommodation if you are in club based accommodation but if you are a player who has bought your own home then it is nigh on impossible to sell your home at the moment, it is a long drawn out process and this club does everything at the last minute. What if you are a player who has children happily settled in school and kindergarden after moving the previous year, a partner who works and cannot move as it is not easy to find another job. What would happen to all the local clubs which players help out at with training or the youngsters who come through the ranks and want to be near family and friends for various reasons. And what about all the ground work that has been done around the Twickers area

Yes I did for about a nanosecond...then rejected it!!......Where is the most accessible location to have training grounds in the South for the players (and chauffeurs), that are/will be, in the Academy programme? Where is the best place to attract future players and to expect the current 1st team squad players to want to uproot their families and relocate ?......hmmmmmmm.......... a046.gif .........Gillingham?!!.....why not Margate even?......at least the parents will be able to get some sea air while their sons are at training....... icon_wink.gif ........like I said, madness I tell ya icon_sad.gif

So do you think those from Medway, South London and so forth do not currently travel to Feltham during the week? I can tell you that many do and why. Because they want a chance to play and have a crack at higher levels of RL and who knows maybe break into the senior squad. However I will finish by stating LB should stay in london.

I have followed the LONDON CLUB since I was in my teensl even though born in St Helens and still live nearby and went to the first game at Fulham, also Big West Ham Supporter:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_1649.jpg

Still completely beyond me why we are talking about a move to Kent, when the whole thread was based on pure presumption? I thought in one article it was said the Club is looking in London for a venue Not Kent!

Take a look at a map. There's a hell of a difference between kids from Medway travelling to Feltham and asking someone from Hemel to trek down to Gillingham. A hell of a difference. They'll stay with either Hemel or Skolars.

It happens. And has happened to us before.

Ask the players that moved from West London to South East London about a decade ago. Irrelevant of were we end up, they'll obviously move to a new training ground as they have many times in the past.

Frequently, players in the North will move to clubs on the other side of the Pennines yet remain living in their home town. Seem to recall those raised in the Wigan area have issues with leaving.

London Broncos are a wounded animal, the kindest thing to do to them would be to finish them off once and for all. A nomadic existence, 800 or so season ticket holders, no marketing, a crap product on the pitch and being run into the ground (or to Kent) by the owners.

I have a feeling the lethal injection will be a cocktail of further decreasing attendances, a continuation of the crap product on the pitch and a move to Gillingham.

I agree it is being run into the ground I dont believe he is the saint most people think he is - the team will disappear but he will keep the saint David tab.
