All I am saying is that if he plays pro/semi-pro RL before 2015 we should get a fee. You and I can debate if we do or not until the cows come home, but given the "form" of the current administration, I'd say the odds are in favour of us receiving not a ing bean!

Yep

Again, another dig without any foundation as to what will happen. We should get something, we have his rego. Your dislike of the CEO is getting in the way of what will happen.

| Perhaps Growler didn't fancy another trip to Gillingham (great minds think alike)

| Given Craig was, in the words of David Hughes at a fans forum, one of the highest paid players in the league I suspect we will have waived the right to compensation to get him off the wage bill a.s.a.p.
There's clearly been a huge breakdown in relationship and the club have decided they don't want him around. Given the saving in wages and the fact they wanted him gone why risk stuffing up his chances of moving by demanding a fee - which given his age and the possibility he has signed as a back up wouldn't have been huge?
We, quite rightly, don't know the sums involved but waiving a fee may well have made good business sense sadly.

I couldn't care less about a fee. I'm more concerned about the fact that the management's relationship with our best player and captain has deteriorated to the extent he jumps ship in the middle of the season.
The club is a shambles, the only good thing I've seen this season is the red shirt and you can't buy that.

| Quote: gutterfax "I would never wish that on any team, but if it were to happen, I suspect Gillingham would be off the agenda for a new home.
I would hope that TR is working on nothing other than defence, defence, defence. If Wire get a sniff, they will hammer us, but the longer we can frustrate them the better. They will be focused, but not as focused as if they were playing a top team, so if we can hold them for 20 minutes or so, then we are in with a chance of still being in the game by half time.
Thereafter......it's down to Clubb to keep the team focused and fitness. The team should expect to make twice the number of tackles they did last weekend.
All I'd say to TR is don't pich anyone who is not 100% fit...'"
They should have been working on defence defence defence from January.
How is Clubb going to keep the team focused when he spends half the game on the bench? Thought waves?

Well maybe he'll be able to fire Kaufusi up from there.

| I'm surprised he stuck it out this long.
He may have been highly paid, but you can't say he didn't earn it, always gave 100%. I wish him luck.
We, on the other hand, need a bloody miracle.

| Growler jumped before he was pushed, is the truth of it.
Let's just say his uncompromising style did not suit some of our Players.
Oh and Tony Rea didn't appoint Clubby as Capo...the other players did.

Appointment /selection by fellow workers...sounds like a Marxist Leninist collective rather than a professionally run sports club!

| No a Marxist Leninist collective would have sought the views of the masses i.e. a fans forum. Nothing could be worse than the present set-up.

| Well, I guess there is some sense in it.
You would think that the players will be happy to give their best for the guy that they voted for (I hope).
I'm hoping that Growler will be above bitching about his former employers. Time will tell.

The CEO is getting in the way of the club being run properly...HTH
