| Good ball-handling skills. Can't tackle. Too small for a centre.
But if Daryl Powell can see a way of developing him into something useful, well - he knows the game a lot better than I do.
EDIT: Above is too damning. He actually has a very good "classical" tackling technique, no doubt learned from years of Union coaching. Problem is that he doesn't have enough bulk and big SL centres just bump him off.

| Better coaching will see him improve a lot, IMO.

| He's like the rest of our squad. Brilliant some days & shocking on others.

Channing has never been brilliant for us, nor has the team this season!

| Jeez... replace 'brilliant' with 'impressive' then. He has had his good days for us as a smaller lad. Sad to see him go if he does leave (illegally) and proves someone sees something in him which is more than some of our fans think

| Don't know why people are jumping on Channing, when has he had any opportunity to show what he can really do? He's played in a completely defeated team in the centres, inside of a guy who can't defend and outside a guy that can't defend. It's no surprise people think he can't defend either. He has quick hands and can tackle on occasion, just needs better people playing around him.

| I will also be disappointed to see Channing go! the list of possible departures is a sad reflection on the club.
Rugby League is becoming a joke, we are on at the start of July and signings have been confirmed by so many clubs already, totally stupid state to run a game allowing moves to go ahead & be announced when it is.

| Why, should the players wait until Oct before realising they are unemployed.
There are players in our squad who were told at the beginning of the year they will not be here next year. Why not do something about it?

People are "jumping on Channing" because they've been asked for an opinion. I've given mine, you've given yours, which has a lot of truth in it. All of which gives the OP an overall view.

| To be fair the last time I saw Channing he was playing for the Skolars against Oxford, he was excellent. But that was Champ 1, I have also seen him play for Wales and he just looks out of his depth at top level

| The problem London have in the outside backs is that relatively few of the players brought through in the past two years have genuinely desirable attributes such as good size/height, strength, speed, tackling ability and try scoring ability.
In some squads Channing could be an asset as he has a lot of heart and good technique and he could play well alongside Carney at Castleford.
For London, I suspect the era of persisting with small men and guys whose physical potential is limited is coming to an end. I reckon Tony will be looking to bring in guys who start at close to six feet tall and a 14 stone minimum and work to build em up but be prepared to risk losing them if they don't progress physically.
After all he wants them to be physically capable of carrying out his instructions.

On loan! until the end of the season, but it will become most likely permanent, not the nicest area to move to but in Daryl Powell he will have a much better coach to work with him.
I thought in time he had potential, wish him the best.
