Dave I'm only going by the notes for the meeting of the club chairman and that Gambling is a state monopoly in France and online betting firms are banned from seeking clients on French territory.

Oh you are probably quite right in that respect actually. Was thinking down the lines of smoking and alcohol. The advertising of gambling services isn't banned, bookmakers might not be allowed to advertise though owing to the Tote system there.

Is it True that the Stobart sponsorship is for "services only" and no cash? while Martin at Sport 360 was working hard on Betfair with a £1 million plus deal per season? some chairmen did not want to be associated with betting.

The deal it is rumoured is 6 Stobart trucks per club in their colours and the rest with Stobart Super League Logo, it does not look as if any money is involved.

There are two financial figures kicking around for Betfair, £1.25 million per season and one of around £950,000. Not heard of any money involved with Stobart but all will be revealed at the Press Launch at their Widnes HQ on Wednesday.
