From what I saw...he needs to spend some time in the gym putting on some bulk and muscle...he just never looked at SL level like breaking the line or attracting defenders to him.

so long as we are allowed to recall them when injuries hit etc then I'm happy for them to go on loan. it'll offer a better learning environment than reserve matches at Quins...toughen them up more and let them learn their trade as it were in the Championship first teams before returning ready for a bite of the SL apple!

Bolger needs game time, he was pressed into service last year and he probably wasn't ready.

Fev topped the championship last year so hopefully good experience for Williams.

I got the impression that when Brian McDermott sent players out on loan it was because he'd already decided they weren't good enough for him and he wanted to offload them before the end of their contract if possible, not with a view to them coming back stronger as part of long term planning. It may be different now.

I always thought it seemed slightly sinister the way some players seemed to get totally frozen out under the previous regime.

I think Williams is a player who wont actually bulk up - its a physical thing like my sister who eats like a horse but never puts any weight on? The lad has been training for a few years now after all. With his height he should be a great offloader but he doesnt seem to be developing the frame to break the defensive line.

Powell is different in this sense in that you get the feeling these are measured and throughout loan signings two games into the season. Another thing I like about Powell is that he knows who he wants in the team and this is evident with only minor changes in the squads for the last two games.

I think this is a positive move for both parties.

Dave needs regular games at a higher standard than he gets in the Reserves.

The club obviously think he has got potential and if they had wanted to get rid of him, he wouldn't still be here now.

Let's hope this is the springboard that get's him a regular first team spot next season.
