Do you disagree? Did you sense any anger yesterday? I even saw a few people applauding the players after the game!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| Has Listy got a mother or is he a Frankenstein from some dark tunnel between Sheffield and Maidstone. Think we need to know.

| One of the things wrong with the team at the moment is that they're mentally weak. They lack concentration.
Rugby league is played with the mind as well as the body.

I did sense anger and heard some booing as well. Speaking to other fans I've yet to come across anyone who is not concerned.

Correct. Your ability to execute skills is reduced when you're tired as well.

| Yesterday was my first Quins Superleague match this year. I’d seen the Skolars & Melbourne games, both of which were too one-sided to really make any judgement as to whether we were back on track after the dismal final three months of last season.
I’m normally fairly positive and optimistic about our chances of winning games or ending a losing streak, but I went away feeling utterly deflated not just with our second half collapse but with our witless and unimaginative play during the long period when we were well on top. I can only recall Salford getting near our line twice in the first half, one of which resulted in their taking the lead completely against the run of play. We were camped closed to their line for long periods but seemed to be playing as if we had to score under the posts. There seemed to be little attempt to use the full width of the pitch. On more than one occasion we began a set of six not much more than ten yards from the line and a succession of players fruitlessly attempted to barge through a wall of defenders before we kicked on the last tackle.
Having finally got our noses in front we capitalised on a sin-binning with two further converted tries to go 18-4 up. At this point Salford looked almost gone. If we’d just held that margin for another five or ten minutes I think we’d have been home and dry, but within two minutes or so we conceded possession cheaply on the halfway line leading to a Salford try and suddenly they found the confidence and belief that they could go on to win. When they pulled it back to 18-16 with just under ten minutes to go it seemed only one team was likely to win, and it wasn’t us. We were throwing the ball around deep in our own half like it was a hand grenade. There was no composure, no direction, no leadership. At one point a bloke near me shouted in desperation: “Stop panicking!” We seemed to be in full-on Corporal Jones mode. What were our more experienced players doing at this point? Surely the likes of Orr, Randall, Williamson, Temata, Ward, Melling should be capable of glavanising the younger players to stop the wheels falling off so alarmingly like this? At least in the first half we looked like we had a strategy, albeit a rather dull and uninspiring one; now we suddenly looked clueless. By contrast a Salford team that had lost every game this year were prepared to get the ball wide with quick passing and offloading and use a bit of flair and imagination. It was humiliating to see them show us how to do it in this way, condemning us to replace them at the foot of the table in the process. The only time we showed similar attacking flair was in scoring our irrelevant final try with just a few seconds left on the clock. I went away feeling that our opponents had wanted the win more badly than our team.
I’ve never felt less enthusiastic about supporting Quins and I’ve never enjoyed watching the games less than over the second half of last season and up to now. Regardless of injuries, financial constraints, trying to use more local lads rather than Aussies etc., our performance was just so bloody dull and uninspiring against opponents who were there for the taking. A lot of supporters will accept dull attritional performances if they lead to an improvement in results, but when you’re losing most games it’s just awful to watch. I wish we could at least try to play some entertaining rugby in future even if we can’t win. I haven’t seen a crowd figure for yesterday but it must have been under 3,000 and there’s no way we’re likely to attract new support playing like that.

| Quote: Dave Lister "The big difference is their supporters actually care - throughout the first half, our supporters were silent - it was pathetic, truly pathetic. Loyal and Loud? Honestly? Utterly embarrassing. Nobody is even bothered. Quote: Dave Lister "]
Sitting in the middle I heard nothing but Quins supporters - not a peep out of those wonderful Salford supporters until the last 10 minutes. But that's the Stoop acoustics for you.
As for our supporters generally, I get a bit fed up of hearing how that we don't behave in the 'right' way, that we are not proper supporters, etc. I guess I am in the majority of fans of our club in that I am middle-aged (well into it actually ) and past the stage where belonging to a tribe is the be and end all in life. I like to think I've got a bit more perspective and there are far worse things in life than Quins playing poorly. Yes, I had a bit of a boo at the end of the match and had a big wobble as to whether I should go next week to watch that rubbish. But I'll probably end up going because at the end of the day it's about being able to watch the game in London and an empty stadium on Sky isn't going to help with that.
So, yes, I think I care - I want the club to do well and days like yesterday are no fun, but if I have to rant and rave and and rend my clothes to prove it, then I'm not that sort of person - and I refuse either to apologise for that or to stop attending games so the 'proper' supporters can see their behaviour as the norm.
And anyway, I could support Catalans who are doing just as badly with far higher expectations.

| I felt exactly the same yesterday.
All the great work that is going on at the club is being undermined by the stuff on the pitch.
Something has got to change but I'm not sure what.

| That's a good post with a number of excellently made points.
Quote: Prince of Denmark "We were camped closed to their line for long periods but seemed to be playing as if we had to score under the posts. This "attack" was embarrassing, like we didn't know any other way to score.
Quote: Prince of Denmark "Having finally got our noses in front we capitalised on a sin-binning with two further converted tries to go 18-4 up. At this point Salford looked almost gone.'"
Agreed, losing after being 18-4 up at home against a team that up until that point hadn't won a game all season.
It's no longer fun anymore - is it? I go out of a sense of duty, but I haven't enjoyed it for quite some time. If I feel that way, then what are "floating voters" going to think? (I guess it is obvious though, isn't it, they simply don't come back).

| PoD is right on the button. I don't know where this club goes from here. Will it survive till the end of its franchise?
Some random thoughts:
As for our attacking "tactics" yesterday, if we'd had 3 or 4 Tematas on the field, they would have been successful, but no more entertaining.
When we were at 18-4, I thought the match was won and I suspect that most of the team thought the same, with predictable results.
BTW, I thought Jeremy Smith had been sent off not just sin-binned. I suppose that CW announced it but the PA was inaudible except when the "crowd" was silent (which it understandably was for much of the time).

According to the RFL disciplinary list Smith has only been charged with the first half dig he had at Danny Orr
and not the one that led to his binning/sending off !!!????

Can I just say, this comment is world class. I laughed out loud for a full twenty seconds upon reading it.
