It isn't. Nor is it the FB.
Defence should get to the man sooner.

That was one of the things he said, yes. He would also go on about thinkgs akin to>
[iMr Rea.......fans will not flock to watch a team that "will have their moments".
For too long, failure has been accepted at the club...it has got to the extent where it has almost become expected[/i
as you said.

Why look at stats over 4 games and not at his figures over about 30 games (which aren't fantastic either)?
I think he's a good scrambling defender because of his speed but there's plenty of room for development in terms of how he reads unfolding play.

simpsons/017.jpg Welcome Quins Kitties born 02.04.09 -
Purdo - Determined, loveable with a "can-do" attitude. A born leader.
Louie - Big, white and fluffy. A very noisy prop forward.
Harley- Cute and gorgeous (just like our no.9) Well, I couldn't call her Chad, could I?
Update on Quins Mogs :-
Purdo - deffo leader amongst Mogs. The Capo.
Louie - turned out to be more like Louie Spence than LMS. Re-named Judas.
Harley - Cute but not as gorgeous as our no.9.
Oh well, at least I haven't got a Willy.:simpsons/017.jpg |

| He's a marked man now though...the oppo are putting him under a lot of pressure and I guess he's feeling it a bit.
Second seasons either go one way or the other...let's hope he continues to develop in a positive manor or he will end up like poor old Will Sharp (the best player England never had!...according to Brian Mac).

| Witt is one of the better tacklers, percentage wise (made 45, missed 5)...lots of worse offenders., mainly amongst the yoof.
Our best tackler is Fusi...81 made, only 1 missed!
Oh, Dorny's stats : made 30, missed 6.
All in all, defence is not our strong point.

FWIW I couldn't be bothered looking last years up. I just offered up the 2013 data and made no comment on it.

| Listy's correct. Having watched small segments of games on SLTV, I notice that people rightly point out our defensive woes, but never seem to mention him as he's a bit of a gun player in attack.

When making comparisons, we need to remember that defending in the middle unit is "easiest" (95% or better is good going) and that wingers and FBs have the poorest stats because they are making (often 1 on 1) tackles when the defence has already failed earlier in the play - 75% in these spots is impressive.
But I note that no team has missed more tackles than the Broncos this year and several individuals have terrible looking defensive stats after 4 games - though someone's record over 4 games can be misleading.

I do understand the sentiment that a winger is on his todd compared to being in the middle. But...Wingers and fullbacks should be able to tackle. If you can't, you shouldn't be in first grade.
Not sure why people seem to be saying, the defence has FAILED in the middle.

It was pretty clear in the Widnes game that he was singled out, presumably the other coaches are getting their teams to do likewise. I still reckon he's ability to come good, he just hasn't got the element of surprise about him that he had last season.
