| Well you could look at it one way, if they are only signed for a year then the million pound game does not have such an impact on future employment, then again with us fighting to go up rather than down its reverse logic.

Ben is a great player, however he is injury prone...makes good sense to see how many games he is fit for in first year. Worth noting that Broncos longest deal on offer at the moment is 2 years.

Perhaps 2 years is as far as DH is considering full time funding for the club?

| When Broncos went to Barnet I seem to recall officials saying David had agreed to a three funding commitment, with his input declining year on year. Given year 3 has just finished I'd guess he has had to agree to stump up for X more years given the full time status has been retained.

| Pleased we have the funding to stay full time, irrelevant of who it comes from, the sport needs to maintain its full time presence in the south. We need to keep the momentum going from the last 2 seasons with a good solid squad so will be interesting who steps into nick slyneys role and Wes as the senior figures in the squad.

| Isnt the off season boring!!!
Taking the squad that started last season and the losses we have had from that squad, do we think we are currently stronger of weaker?
Naiqama ---> Purtell (Bulls)
Macani ---> Grant (Rams)
Eliab ---> Channing (Fev)
Gray ---> Adebiyi (Academy)
Foster
Leatherbarrow ---> Api (Union)
Bussey
Slyney ---> Evans (Wire
Thackray ---> Spencer (Leigh)
Stapleton ---> Pearce-Paul (Academy)
Magrin ---> Pitts (Bulls)
Of course we ended the season with Soward, but he has moved on.
Lovell is on a 3 month trial.
To me, looking at the recruitment from others, this isnt as formidable as it needs to be. Lacks creativity in the halves, and serious impact in the middle unit.

I've moved the deck chairs around a little bit. Are there not a couple more people yet to come?

There was talk of some bloke Gee and Sammut, but I am not seeing Hock, Hansen, Patterson, Weston type players, experience, power, etc

| I remain hopefully that there are a couple of signings to come and it's just a delay in announcements as visas are resolved. However I do tend to agree that overall the quality of the signings does not on the surface of it appear as strong. Given the number of full time teams now (no it's not a call to reduce them) the number of players available that fit the bill, are prepared to move (or go FT) are perhaps harder to find and secure. Toronto are mopping up a lot as will Bradford and Hull KR? While some good quality players playing part time have relatively well paid jobs which provides a better financial balance than going FT.
Up to the new signings to prove us wrong, and there have been a few great examples of that, but that's the initial view.

| Always thought he was a bit of a one man team, he is however very creative and will add a different dimension to our game.

| Including Lovell that brings squad numbers up to 26.
If the rumours of an Aussie Prop and a utility back are to be believed, that would be us just about done.
I'm not as negative as others with regards to the new recruits.
I feel in general we have definitely strengthened

| Sammutt overall is a good signing i think. it gives us the option of playing Api in the centre and Barthau and Sammutt at halves, or any combination that suits

Although I am not sure if all the Academy guys are signed up for the first team?? As well as a Prop and Utility back I thought we had signed Gee and James??? I guess it depends how Hendo see the younger players (Everett for example who basically never played last season)
