| I do not understand why some folks on here see this an an opportunity for a slanging match. Just stick to the facts - If Broncos fold or fail to exercise their SL franchise next season, then there's a door open and Fev are certainly knocking on it. If Broncos do enter SL next season, door is closed for a year after which there'll be a process in place.
"It's as simple as that."

I have no beef with Rovers, they are a great club and it is a great RL village, but the game will die if it shrinks into its own comfort blanket.'"
Maybe the answer is to let London RL grow through the amateurs and the semi pro ranks and focus any ideas of expansion on France

| Quote: gingdong "Set of lights between ponte and Wakey you mean.
london replaced Rovers in the top flight in 96 in those years you have had 20+ million out of the game more than Rovers a Rovers that averaged 4800 at the time. You have still no home ground, still no where near 4800 fans and you beat us 24-12 and were allowed more foreign players in your team. The RFL need to ask themselves was it worth it ?????'"
In the 1995-96 season Featherstone were in the second division not the first. The average crowd that season was 2097 and Rovers finished in 5th place. That was the Centenary season. If however you are referring to the 1994-95 season rovers averaged 3683 and finished 11th in the 1st division. After which London were promoted for the centenary season. Hull, Widnes, Salford, Wakefield, Doncaster and Featherstone were placed into the 2nd division so take your pick as who we replaced. Nor had Featherstone averaged 4,800 in any of the preceding 10 years. So not sure where you get your statistics from. However join the queue to dance on the grave.
And if you get the chance good luck.

.....and the rest of the game has received 240,000,000+ from SKY as a result of the RFL parachuting London into the top flight.
Fev averaged 3,589 in their last year in the top flight and finished above Widnes(4,357), Salford (3,383), Wakey (3,476) and Hull FC (6925)....the average for the division was around 5,500 and dropping with each year Wigan dominated.....of the 16 teams, the vast majority were part time and many were on the brink of bankruptcy. Paint the game as rosy as you like, but before SKY, with their demands for a London team arrived, it was heading the wrong way.
London have received no extra cash from SL other than the entitlement as an equal player.....given the price of a house in Fev compared to inside the M25, I'd actually say they have been disadvantaged more than most. The current backer ploughs more of his own cash into the club than any other benefactor has in the history of SL.
As has been said, if London drop out then good luck to whomever gets the nod from Red Hall, but if you come on here to death ride our club with incorrect facts and insinuations of additional help then do yourself and us a favour and f**k off back under your bridge

We cannot attract major sponsors or media partners when Broncos and Crusaders were in SL either. The last sponsor of SL was a Harrogate based insurance company that I have never heard of (and I'm from Harrogate).
The BBC didn't show the SL show in Wales or London either.
We need expansion that's a given but tokenism fools nobody. The top-down approach hasn't worked whilst the bottom-up approach hasn't ever really been tried.
I don't think this is the end of Broncos even though it looks like the end of them as a SL side for the forseeable future.

| Quote: gingdong "Rovers in there hay day in the 70s had a following that had to be seen to be believed, dont be fooled by the pit village myth, there are 3 towns Ponte, Knottingley and fev that they pull considerable support from, we will do fine in the top flight no doubt about that. we have had hardly any funding from the RFL sinse 96 and yet have built 3 stands, while others given millions havent even had a lick of paint. we run an u19s with no funding from the RFL yet Huddersfield who get 100k to run theres gave rovers the game the other month unable to raise a team. The game needs a big shake up and we deserve our chance even in the licencing system'"
