I have just got up and I was expecting a 1 in the win column. I consider myself quite levelheaded in terms of coaches, but I will add my view.

It is a terrible result and judging by the comments already on this thread, we are awful. This can no longer put this down as bad performances by players, something is very wrong!!

Powell needs to go or step down for a more experienced coach. Hughes must act now!!!! We still have time to rescue the season.

An absolute embarrassment - there are players and a coach stealing money. 5 hours up now hopefully 3 hours back, never again under this regime

From the BBC website

"We need to dig a bit deeper. That's three away games this year we have been poor in the first half and need to do much better.

"I'm not just blaming the players, I need to do better too. We can't continue to bash our heads against the wall. We are training hard but need to have a look at why the boys are not getting energy in the first half.

"When it was 20-0 at half-time the match was pretty much gone. Our start has to be better. Our dressing room after the match was the quietest I have ever seen."

Unacceptable comments by a super league coach, we can't keep going on like this!!!

Absolutely shocking, what to do in attack yep will start looking at rp for that, the utterly shocking defence falls at the players feet

I am a Leigh supporter and went because I live in Salford. Have to say your defence was terrible' although in the last 15 minutes your players seemed to get their act together.

Your team is marginally better than Widnes imo.

Terrible result and by all accounts a terrible performance. I really hoped Rob Powell would succeed but it just isn't happening - our club needs a new coach, and one with a lot more experience . And it needs to be now! I know we're only 5 games in to the season but apart from a few glimpses against Saints I can't see where our next win is going to come from.

He may well be a poor coach, but the players are clearly not performing for him.

What is terrible is that some of those players are players he bought to the club, and have clearly let him down. Inexperienced and poor as a coach he may be, but i would imagine he has given a lot more to trying to turn it round than his senior players, too many senior pros have done f88k all for him and as previously posted, they are just cheating themselves and more importantly the club and its fans.

Must be time for Powell to go, but there won't be many players able too look him in the eye, and say they gave him a fair crack, which is disgusting.

Some decent players earning good money who have not stood up to be counted, gutless

Very sad, it says more about the senior players than it does for the coach,

Just back from the game.

Shocking is not the word. Even the tackles look half hearted, and forward runs are being made sideways. I thought the 'gelling' might still be taking place but this team do not know how to play together.

Caro was the only one who put any bite in, and Colbon was the only one showing any emotion any time an error was made/a try was conceded.

If I'm honest, I think the scoreline flattered us icon_frustrated.gif

I really can't see how Rob Powell can hang on to his job for much longer it the comments in this tread are true, and i have no doubt they they are. The man is clearly out of his depth at Super League level, and i would suggest the players have little respect for him now as his coaching methods and match day tactics are not working.

I know it's absolutely no consolation but I'd just like to commend the Bronocos fans who made the trip up. You were an absolute credit to your club and rugby league and were in good spirit after the game despite the result.

On the pitch, to me as a Salford fan it was evident that you had no plan B. It seemed that your game plan was to simply dominate our forwards. As soon as we moved the ball out wide your defence crumbled and it became a case of how many would we score. Hopefully things will get better from here for you. All the best for the season.

Wisezola. Been my point all along, you cannot blame rp for inability to complete a tackle so yep in my eyes not rp to blame for the 44 points we leaked even the great white hope gower seems to have given up rollocking the boys
Am not interested if they don't want to play for rp they should be playing the best they can for me and padlock and pc plum etc etc
On a plus side at least the players coming off during the second half who had to walk past the away support at least looked utterly ashamed
Jr looked angry

First 15mins both teams looked quite even. in some respects we were dominating territory and drove well for first 5 tackles and then well nothimg. Then when Salford got their first break down our right side they scored. Two further breaks lead to trys. Add to that a couple of breaks that were caught. Fourth try of first half resulted from something like 3 penaltiestaking Salford to our line and Feka from 5 yards was a dead cert. Start of second half there might have been a brief suggestion of trying before we were opened again far too easily.

It did help that Salford were cheatimg as they had planned moves with a deepish backline and options with everyone knowing what they were doing and moving. Also they were prepared to keep the ball alive. it started to look like a demonstration match. i think they got bored or were worried the score board couldn't accommodate 50 points. A brief flurry while Salford did their warm down in the last 15mins does not disguise a clueless performance.

What's all this rubbish about RP not being responsible for defence?!? Brown and Maguire single handedly revolutionised the defence (that's pronounced DEEEEEfence btw) at Hudds and Wigan. Organise, inspire, motivate that's his job and he sucks at it.

I had a bad feeling as soon as I saw our preseason vid on YouTube (other video sharing websites may as well not be available). You hear about Wire players running up sand dunes until they vomit, our boys were jogging round a nice lush park holding hands.
