Suffered a horrific injury a couple of years ago, check it out
Definitely a back rower, cant recall him playing up front. Run of the mill player.

So an ideal singing and a potentially shrewd move by Powell.

2016 - year of the mighty Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks!: |
|
| Very average backrower or lock. Hails from the Cronulla area, so wouldn't surprise me to see him heading home.
Wasn't excited when I saw Quins linked with him, and even less excited if he's signed for my team down under.

| By the look of the responses on this thread...if he has signed for Cronulla we have dodged a bullet!
Frustrates me to see us constantly aiming at forwards who have played a couple of games at prop (probably as injury cover) but who are mainly 2nd rowers...but market themselves as a prop. I've said it before loads on here...we haven't had a decent forward pack since the Danny Williams and Solo Haumono days.
Please someone who watches the youth teams....please give us some confidence....is there anyone at that level that is actually a large human being? I'm baffled at the number of youngsters playing the game that we still have a tiny pack...I need some reassurance that we have some prospects on the horizon that might actually break a tackle!

| That wakey prop the other week (Hickey?) was an absolute monster. Wakey fans slating him for being overweight. If we could get someone like that (and they could achieve a decent level of fitness) it would be ideal.

Hickey weighed 140kg when he was 13 so when he is idle, like he has been for the last 18 months at the Bulldogs, he really does pile on the pounds.
When he is on, he is on, but when he is out of shape he is like any other large slow monster and he gets found out. He has Irish ancestry and I think he has a two-year deal with Wakefield that would be nullified if and when it is confirmed that they are to lose out in the licences. I wouldn't say no to a streamlined, or at least less tubby and more muscular prop moving down to London next year.

That's my thinking and hopefully no-one else sees the potential and we steal in and grab something that we've not had at the club since Tookey left.

| He is mentioned in this piece with Gower
QUINS NEW BOY GOWER GETS ITALY CALL
Harlequins' new signing Craig Gower has been named in Italy's squad for next month's 2013 World Cup European zone qualifying matches against Russia, Serbia and Lebanon.
The 33-year-old half-back won 18 caps with Australia during his 10-year career with Penrith Panthers before moving to French rugby union in 2008 and has been a regular in Italy's six-nations team over the last four seasons.
Gower, who has an Italian grandfather, has signed a two-year contract with Harlequins. He will be making his debut for Italy's rugby league team, who kick off the round-robin tournament against Russia in Padova on October 15.
The Azzuri will be jointly captained by another former Kangaroo, full-back Anthony Minichello, and Cameron Ciraldo, of Newcastle Knights, while further experience is provided in the shape of former Crusaders forward Rocky Trimarchi, now back playing in Sydney with Western Suburbs.

According to the Italy RU coach Gower could have played for Italy at the RWC, but we were talking to him for quite a while and got him because we wanted him so badly and gave him a two year deal. So fitness is not the problem for Gower, but will we see the likes of Gower and the Minnichellos in the Italy rugby league team this autumn, I'm not so sure.

They get named in these squads and pull out before kicking a ball so I wouldn't put my mortgage on the Italian team being suped up.
