| He is currently incapable of tackling, I don't know why that is but just not good enough.

| Not a lot of options are there? I'm with Tim, play him at FB, he played a few NRL games there and looked OK there against Salford. If Dorn's done his hamstring (mostly due to his own lethargic approach to picking up a ball in the in-goal area) we're going to need a new FB.
Then Pryce at centre, as hinted by Purdo in his ES interview.

| Knowing how prone the mind is to confirmation bias I had a look at the stats for our back line. According to Opta they are:
Tackles made - Tackles missed - % missed
Howell 200 - 24 - 10.7%
Clubb 242 - 22 - 8.3%
Dorn 35 - 9 - 20.4%
Gale 253 - 36 - 12.5%
Melling 84 - 12 - 12.5%
O'Callaghan 168 - 8 - 4.6%
Pryce 78 - 8 - 9.3%
Randall 271 - 26 - 8.7%
[Can't work out how to format that properly

| Quote Boyne="Boyne"Hi guys, I posted this (if it works) on an earlier thread. I believe it still applies...
'While I agree with the recent criticism of Howell, it must be remembered that last season he was one of our best until he sustained that fractured clavicle which would put anyone off going in hard in tackles. As someone mentioned somewhere the problem seems to be that his confidence is in pieces therefore things aren't 'going' for him therefore he tries too hard therefore whatever he tries dosen't come off therefore his confidence is in pieces therefore... Basically he needs some time off without all the pressure which is a management decision. I think we could use Pryce and Clubb in the centres and we still have Calderwood and others to fill in and shuffle around a bit.'
Plus the possibility of Melling at fullback - a few years ago he was good enough for a GB cap in that position...'"
If that's the case he should pad the area a little more. Strap it up. Psychologically it's been proven that players wearing padding are more confident in the tackle.

| JOC played fullback last night and did a good job, admittedly against poor opposition. Put him at FB, give Howell a rest/ play him in the U20s until happier. Calderwood, Clubb Pryce and Melling in the 3/4 rts. Once Sargi's exams are finish bring him on. Get Randall and Ellis to share the hooker spot until we can get an accomplished number 7.

| JOC can't tackle though. He's worse than Dorn.

You don't believe Opta then? As noted above they show that he is heads and shoulders the most reliable tackler of all our backs.

Listy let facts get in the way of a good argument, surely not. JOC for full back!
