| There was some, but I don't know the figures, not really the sort of info' I go looking for.
I always have and always will believe what we need is a HOME, until we have one, we will never build beyond a mid-table 2nd tier side and parachuting a club like ours into SL was an opportunity which, for reasons unknown, was not grasped because everyone involved wanted an immediate return on their outlay, therefore what we had was only going to last as long as we were successful on the pitch, unlike a Castleford, or a Widnes, who will come through a lean period, we would not.

| I see your point, but originally when the likes of Roy Lester (personal friend by the way) set off to promote the game down South with Fulham. You were a new factor in the game and others got on board to that. You can't dispute you were handed a help all the way ticket.
How many years ago is that? So to see what was started, to see were it's at now, after that help in hand.Shows no progression.
Probably as stated too many hands in the pot..But couldn't you see that happening or were you just blind to it?

We were gifted the chance of top-flight footie a good ten years too early, and those that took over the club never took the opportunity.
I am NOT going to abandon my club because of their mistakes!'"
It's not your club.
It belongs to David Hughes who is owed closer to 15 million than not.
The people who never took the opportunity didn't understand what they had.......we weren't 10 years early, we were 100 years too late.
do you honestly believe that London Crusaders a la 1994 would exist now if we hadn't become broncos?
As for the yawn.....Gutterfax was right and more precisely right than you, rupe1 or any of the other idiots who declared the union tie in wouldn't deliver.......simply put, if we had 10,000 fans, we wouldn't need hughes.

| Well the Fulham Club were always dependent on Fulham FC's interest, which they lost as attendances dwindled.
The Broncos' well we wait to see don't we, at what point Hughes loses interest, attendances having already dwindled.
The Crusaders, well after an initial helping hand from the RFL, trundled along by the grace of their fans, often by the skin of their pants, yes GF, London Crusaders a la 1994 would still be here without the RFL/SLE/Brisbane & Sky hi-jack! Who knows we may have gone down a further level there again we may well have EARNED promotion by now and be an established SL club with gates of 5k to 6k. Remember our last season we finished 3rd in Div' 2!
I never stated Union wouldn't deliver frankly I have no way of knowing whether they would or wouldn't, I simply never went to a Quins RL game because I 'effin well HATE Harlequins.
Yes Mr Hughes is the current owner of MY club.

The union tie-in didn't deliver so what on earth are you talking about?
I couldn't stomach watching a team calling itself Harlequins and wearing its colours and its quite clear many other people felt the same.

| am quite interested that folk stopped going to watch the team because they changed the name!! did you stop watching rugby league full stop or did you go watch the Skolars?
If its the latter fine, if its the former then how sad! you could call the team Kevin for all i care, would not stop me watching em play. I never once uttered the words "come on the quins" I stuck to "come on London" but i kept going and kept supporting MY team!
If your way of protesting against how things are run is to not turn up then fine, but dont whinge abour dwindling crowds.

| Can't say I was overjoyed with the Quins name, but having no club union loyalties I ran with it. TBH I never liked 'London' or 'Broncos' much, but these days the name is the least of our problems.
As per earlier post though, I do think a massive opportunity was wasted at the Stoop.

| Never stopped watching because they changed their name Mickey, after all I went from London Crusaders to London Broncos with only minor swearing. I'm sure some of the Fulham fans did the same when the club became Crusaders. I stopped going because the club decided to "merge" identity with an institution that embodied snobbery and class discrimination for most of it's history, only changing their tune when the "Puntmonkies" went pro' and realised their weren't enough toffs in West London preparred to fill their stands on cold winters days and nights.
And yes, the Skolars recieved my dollars.

To be honest I was all set to knock it on the head with the Harlequins link up, went to the first game, could see it was still the same players more or less and decided to stick with it. Never bought any multi pastel tat, never chanted the H word or the Q word ( I must have sat somewhere near you as I used to hear another shout of 'come on London' on a regular basis ) , made a point of always wearing an old London shirt to games. Never expected the tie in to work, absolutely gutted about the collapse of the team and support since the Broncos relaunch. Will support the team til it ceases to exist, will applaud when it is deserved, will criticise when it is deserved ( Craig Gower copped it once at Gillingham!) - hoping they're wont be too many times it is so bad I either stay in the bar or bugger off with half an hour to go!

How is Roy these days? Put my own little tribute to him on Era of the Biff, as without his determination we would have folded in the summer of '84.

| I would think the crowds are dwindling because for almost 5 seasons there has been nothing but total and utter dross on the pitch. The club is owned by a man who is too proud to ask for help in employing a decent coach and that is where the problem lies. He thinks he knows enough to employ coaches but he doesn't. You can have all the big name players or all the London players you want but without a good coach who knows what he wants, isn't afraid to rip into players when they are not producing the goods they are paid for or can coach a game then LB will never move forward. It starts with a really top level coach who can build a great team and put wins and excitement back on the pitch. Something to watch and enjoy will put bums on seats as it is not an expensive day our when compared to other sports.
