| Only saw the second half on TV but that must rank as the most lacklustre performance of any RL team at any level I have ever witnessed (and I'm well into my 50s). I've seen teams beaten my more points but they had some positives in their performances. I've seen teams with back room and financial problems play badly but still look more hungry. This team was totally and utterly uncoached, inept and quite frankly there was no player on the field that should ever be paid another penny to play RL. They were that bad and should all get proper jobs because they are not fit (either physically or mentally) to play even British level RL.

| i think rugby league nowadays is a little too protective over each other and the competition. I whiteness crowds clapping away teams onto the field week in, week out. theres no competition any more.. so on that note
Pahahahaha weeeeeeyyyyyyyyyy your out of the cuppppppppp!
Wembly here we comeeee!!!!!
nillllllllllleddddddd
So yeah thats that out of the way.. Why do we think things have changed so much over the years? Is it getting better? Personally i see nothing better than people like the good Dr at 'red devils'.. Imagine if every chairman took on the same role spending what they like, ignoring the RFL rules.. I think its what the game needs to push it into the spotlight and people to take notice. The atmosphere tonight was a joke.

| Apart from the game, it was quite a nice day out - good weather, Wigan fans picnicing on the grass and around 'The Whistling Wren', nice ground with friendly and helpful staff (don't eat the pies, though!), the conga at the end looked fun and it turned out that I was sitting in front of a couple that I remembered from the Cottage days. As far as the club's future is concerned Roy Haggerty's started a thread there. Oh, and can Steve McGee get any,um, more prosperously built?

| Calls that Sheffield would have done better. what a Joke! just taunts from the Northern Parochials? Sheffield remember could not beat us! the likes of the teams who feel they are Super League quality Featherstone and Halifax would have been destroyed yesterday.
Wigan took it serious, willing to give St Helens two league points and rest players last Monday, yes many of us travelled in Hope, that first period was fairly good, but once the flood gates opened, heads went down by the minute, tackling was abysmal as we have seen over and over again this season, what are the coaching staff doing during the week? Some young players heads have been fed rubbish from their personal managers telling them they are much better currently than they are!
The game was a terrible advertisement for the game, 6,000? we took around 200-300, their must have been some Leigh people and also general rugby fans, so how many travelled 12 miles from Wigan? The match officials did not help, two terrible calls from the touch line, resulted in tries, when the referee had made the right call? The number of penalties, you are not telling me that Wigan did not commit more fouls at the play the ball, but got away with it. TV Viewers must have fell away even with 20 minutes to go!
What a bad day for us, but also for the sport! and they feel that splitting half way through the season to three leagues is the answer! Woods is killing the game, would you as a major sponsor be involved with rugby league, I know I would not currently advise any client to!

I can assure you Sheffield would have given far more effort today. That is what was missing.

| Maybe they should have given it a couple of weeks ago and they could have shown the nation how much effort they have.
They were picked off easily by the worst ever London team and look what the Pies did to them

| what were the two calls from the touchies? did not spot those? Maybe the high shot on wonder kid, look at the TV the arm ended up around the neck technically its a high shot and against the laws of the game so that was not a bad call.
There was one stripped ball where I thought the wigan player just let go of it, otherwise there was very little we could complain about from the officials.
We were outclassed in every quarter! Why? inexperienced youth and lack of leadership on the pitch and off it.
We have some talent out there! it just does not play as a team, our defensive line is evidence of that, a team that does not communicate leave gaps.
Yes now and again technique is poor but usually that's because we are on the back foot and stepping the wrong way.
There is no passion in the club or the shirt, we are not going to win until that is sorted out

| Ashamed and disgusted were the words that came to mind on our 5-6 hour return journey from Leigh last night. Can't believe we left at 9:30 am and came back at 12:30 am to watch a completely gutless performance. I'm ashamed at the players for even thinking that was acceptable as well as Rea for being a clueless buffoon, playing a player like J'OC at Stand off when he has failed at so called 'easier' positions on the wing, centre, full back and at second row(iirc).
I think the only reason I will be going to the Leeds game on Thursday is to boo the players as they come out onto the field, while watching the majority politely clap them on, like the deserve that much.
A lot of money was spent on tickets, food and petrol on the way up, and to come back that depressed was amazing. I was expecting a loss, but I was hopefully we'd show some backbone. I was wrong.
