| The RFL and refs are killing the game. Yet super gates on average are up! Tv figures are up. Championship attendances areup 23%
Shocking!

| Oh yes really. They are inaccurate as they dont include London. I know we were not in SL last year but Widnes were. You cannot include / ignore teams to massage figures. Where is the data to support these statements.

| Championship numbers up by 23% london are not in the championship.
Every other team in SL numbers are increased, does not look like a sport that Is being killed.
Oh yes london broncos crowd numbers are up on last year

| Last season the Super League average attendance figures were down, with only two clubs increasing their crowds. St Helens and Hull FC.
This years figures with some massaging are reported have increased. Let us see how things work out come seasons end.
The TV figures being up with the TV deal approaching, must be good news.

1. If you replace London with Bradford, then yeah, I'd wager my house they'd be up......both based on the Bradford Home gates as well as their visits to their Yorkshire cousins. If Bradford go up/down, what are the odds the championship crowds will plummet (unless wigan or leeds go down that is )
2. Season to date has seen like for like gates over the weeks as being down on the same games last year....
3. London Broncos Crowds are abysmal by comparison to the pre-Hughes era. Being up from being 3 figures is hardly an achievement......8k to 2.5 k for Wigan...let's cheer-lead some more
4. The game is being led by a handful of SL chairmen, who ripped control from the RFL and I have no doubt who intend to pull up the drawbridge in an attempt to secure another average TV deal.....it's not about the number of viewers, nor is it about the fans on the terraces....it's about the demographic of the viewers/fans and how much SKY or any other broadcaster can get for the advertising spots......we're foxy bingo, other sports are Landrover.......you figure it out

Have the included Bradford in the championship figures unlike London in the SL figures?

| Thanls for answering for someone else!
Still interested in why bradford not York.
If you were wanting a realistic view of if there is an actual increase in championship you would not count Widnes!

| Pedantic? I asked a straight fwd question to someone’s post! You decided to answer that question with a clear statement. I was merely interested in why he picked bradford.
Nobody forces you to respond!

The simplistic and factual reality is that London, with 1K gates are now no longer in the Championship, but Bradford (4.5k), Widnes (4k) and York (1.75) are, so claiming that the game is in rude health is stretching reality to suit your standpoint.
In Superleague, HKR facing FC has boosted their average at an early stage.....they got 5k fewer for their next home game.....Same with Saints hosting Wigan......we drew 7,500 fewer fans.
14 SL games were played in the 1st season at Langtree (2012) including 13,262 for the visit of London........9,090 this time around, so spin it whatever way you want, crowds are in decline and skewed fixture lists only hide it from those who are in denial!
