| It's difficult to reply to "Cracker" as I cannot read what he said, but if your summary is accurate then he's wrong.
I am a northerner. I come from Harrogate, which is far from being an inexpensive place but it is not comparable to London, not remotely. Everything is more expensive and is largely a consequence of the higher price of property.
Quoting the price of property does tend to overstate the difference, but there is going to be a significant difference in all the things that you said.

| I will continue to support them but probably not as a season ticket holder. Assuming of course we are playing in London / Greater London.

| Quote: wire quin "Are you making the assumption P&R will come in?'" Not an assumption. It's the current RFL plan, albeit on hold because of Lenegan's torpedo.
Although for the first year, after the end of next season, it seems that there will be R but no P.

Even The RFL CEO's biggest ally Hetherinton though fully backing the Wood proposals says he is against conventional relegation and promotion?

Be that as it may, P&R is the current proposal, hence I've based my argument on it being implemented.

| I gave up on the broncos/quins London a couple of years ago was a season ticket holder, now pop along once or 2 a season!
For me the real fun in supporting left with Mark McLinden, the rise of LMS was fun but false dawn!
The real issue for me and I don’t think anyone important, really got to the bottom of question of how important is London to the game. I think it’s been debate to death but never had a properly thought out plan! Plenty have come and gone given it great lip service but there’s never been a great plan for getting for the London team to get more people in. There seems to be an odd attitude to the whole thing, it’s a great game the people will just come.
Sorry that been a tosh argument for 30 years and why Super league in London is where it is today (I don’t want to have a pop at all the good grass roots work that has been done and I only visited the site today on the back of Phil Jones departure- and that to me is the end of London!)
Well clearly Londoners are too stupid to realise its a great game and it not worked. Sorry I forgot the other brilliant reasons for failure ‘well its always been in posh west London if only we’d been working class east London!’ and ‘ Its the wrong name’ FFS
But sadly those that run the game seem to think that acceptable we tried in London but it didn’t work oh well
Surely if you’re try a parachute product into new area I would have thought it has to be a great product and in sport that’s a winning team! London have never had that long enough and consistently enough. So for me I would tear up the rulebook just give London a winning team. Other thing that appears to be missing is the money to do this and that where the thing falls down for me.
Fair play to Gutterfax I agree lots of thing he says and marketing team/ department that seem hell bent on shooting itself in the foot at every given opportunity doesn’t help. But the team has not been good enough in last 5 years to get new people in.
I understand that that a hollow victory just buying it but it happens in other sports! It strikes me those opposing that are a bit like those people who sit in an empty boozer and complain when the landlord tries to change anything new 12 months later your pubs gone!
30 years on TOP FLIGHT RUGBY LEAGUE IS DEAD IN LONDON!

That is what I would like to know the answer to. The concern I feel, and this is from a few clubs, is that how does a Championship Club survive in Super League with the adjustment it makes, the reason why the licence system was introduced. Not that clubs can't attain Super League stature, like football The RFL can't afford parachute payments, but will it lead us to one season and relegation regularly, never mind the stupid mid season split! Just can't understand why the clubs expect Championship sides who swallowed the sweet they were offered fell for it! and never objected earlier.

| in response to previous comments here, you have used an example of the ONLY thing that is as expensive here as in London... Beer!!
In my local in Normanton (between Castleford and Wakefield) I pay £1.80 a pint of Carling
go 5 miles west into Wakefield, and it's £3+
Peroni up here, even in our small city can touch £4

Would love to know the price of a terraced house in Castleford, compared to one in London>
#justsayin
I think it will be a lot more in London, and a lot more than a pint of Carling!

| According to zoopla, average property price in Castleford around £120k. Average in Twickenham £556k.
I make the difference a bit more than 10%.......

| Ooh give over with the price of a pint and price of a house.
it is what it is.
big difference, leeds based player signs for widnes , he can stay in family home and commute.
to play for london means upping sticks and moving 200plus miles, moving family and kids etc.
irrelevant of how much a pint is going to cost, convincing a player with family to move when quite possibly they have 2 maybe 3 seasons down south and then have to go back up is never gonna be easy, hence our difficulty in recruitment.
Aussie imports sightly different, have mates in aus who drive 3 hours to the shop.
