| Well, in the albeit unlikely event that we prevailed in the 8's or even won the £1M Game, we would have another move on our hands as I'd be pretty sure they wouldn't allow the current standard in SL.
We may even stay based at Trailfinders but have to play all our games 'on the road', Loftus Road, Griffen Park, Orient, Gillingham etc.
But lets not get ahead of ourselves, thats why the first SL Broncos were doomed from the get go!

Not sure what you are getting at here. The first couple of years in SL were our most successful in terms of both crowds and attendances.

| We really gonna hash all that up again?
OK, it has always been my view that the Broncos and PSG should never have been "parachuted" into the top flight as one club was a small team with about 400 or 500 fans and the other NEVER existed.
Upon these foundations of clay I stated 20 years ago that this would fail and it did!
Now, can we PLEASE get on with the job we should have been doing 20 years ago and BUILD the foundations upon which a LONG TERM success can be built!
No mergers with others,no "gift" of top flight status, no 'ersatz' star studded team, just a solid, progressive build up until we reach that status naturally.
No fair-weather fans, here for the Wigun games, nowhere for the Wakey games. But proper fans, who really appreciate the highs, because they know the lows personally!

Well Broncos are now back where they were before SL but it has taken a while. It wasn't doomed to fail though. With half decent management a SL club in London is perfectly viable.

You get that for all sports
What's a proper fan, go on set out the criteria. No doubt something that mirrors what you do
Do Tescos have proper shoppers or do they appreciate anyone who shops there whether it be every week or just to buy a turkey at Xmas.
I enjoyed watching the opposition particularly the great players.

| I still don't understand why you are saying it's failed, the club are still in existence and still playing. Widnes hull kr Leigh Bradford have they all failed as well? Widnes and kr successfully spent time in lower leagues and have progressed back up.
As for fairweather fans, contrary to popular belief in don't mean it as an insult fans will drift away from the club for lots or reasons and will come back for lots of reasons.
There is no problem with folk that pick and choose specific games, I would rather they did that than not come at all!

| Whatever, I stated what I stated way back when it was all first mooted, when the only real RL forum was the old BBC one.
I agree it didn't have to fail, but it was obvious from the outset that the onus was on immediate on-field success rather than long-term building and hence in my opinion it was doomed.
I'm no Cowgirl Nostalgist or Gutterfax who take great delight in this, I would have loved it to have been a success but I could see NO FOUNDATIONS!
As to fair-weather fans, that is what you get when you have a "build it and they will come" mentality. They have virtually all gone now, so discussing them is irrelivent.
I'm no super fan, 3 or 4 home games and the odd away game, a home shirt and occassionally an away one too is the limit of my commitment. It's never changed really (Except for the Quinns debacle, and even then my missus got me a top by mistake, lmao).

I've followed them for 20 years many as a ST holder
I don't go now(did Blackpool last year). What category do I sit in?

| Not sure where you are going with this Pete. The club has not folded we are still up and running, we may not be as successful as we would wish but am still not sure where the failed thing comes from.
Fair weather fans comment, build it and they will come! No its sport, win games be entertained they will come. When Wigan Leeds saints are having a bad run gates drop, in kickball man u are suffering from that.
Don't forget before the first ever game the fan Base was zero

| Wire' I'm not interested in putting anyone into "camps", I don't feel superior to anyone in any way shape or form.
Mickey, the discussion, as ever is going nowhere which is why I said "do we have to hash it up again".
I don't think Fev', Salford, Wakey, Widnes and Hull should have been relegated in '95 or Donnie should have been "double relegatted" to make space for an ersatz franchise in PSG or a club (ourselves) who hadn't earned the right to promotion. This is just a personal view, and it's in the past. Lets look to the future guys and stop jumping on anyone who'se view isn't our own.

| Not jumping on anyone who has differing views at all just having a discussion, what happened in 95 can't be undone though.
As for us not earning the right to be promoted that's as may be, but we actually held our own in that comp for a fair few years, so it was the failure comment that I was interested in.
From my point of view we are a long way from where we have been, is it back to square one? Maybe, but clubs in the past have declined and some have successfully re built, examples being KR widnes and Leigh again will be contenders this year, they have slowly really built.
The ground we are at, far from ideal, but to be honest in my mind suitable for where we are as a club at the moment.should we do well this season and get in middle 8 then who knows! I think a home game in million pound game would present some interesting challenges, but we ain't there yet.
Oldham then Swinton as season openers first hurdles to get over
