Quote: Dally "To the person whose seat Noble took - did you ask him to move? Did you ask one of the stewards to move him?

To the person who said Noble swore a lot - did you report him to a steward?

Surely that's what people are encouraged to do these days?'"

Dally - Unfortunately it was the stewards who told us we had to move to accommodate the Salford coaching team. As to BN's language - I couldn't hear him so didn't give a f**k.

A friend mentioned this episode to TK, who said that was totally 'disrespectful'! I intend to sort this out tomorrow!

Brian Noble and his staff were top blokes. Would rather have sat with Scotquin and SR but mistakes happen. Seven complimentary home shirts would go some way to heal the trauma......

So you seriously think Widnes have a better squad than Salford? d040.gif

Talking of d040.gif Widnes don't have any psychopaths in their squad as far as I'm aware.

So they're better in that respect.

Quote: Smooth Stu "We could only get to our seats via a door through the bar. This door was guarded by security, and no alcohol was allowed through the door.
It's very similar to the Stoop, just a lot smaller. Do you think the bar and toilets in the West Stand could cope with three thousand fans?'"

We asked the steward in the Amber Lounge if we could take our beer in a plastic glass to the West Stand, he said yes. When we got to the turnstile another steward told us we couldn't take it in with us and asked us to drink up. Already dropped an e-mail to the commercial manager at the Hive, hopefully they'll come up with a consistent policy and get all the staff on-message.

Overall I liked the ground. Good view, good food, good beer.
I'm as p*ssed off as anyone else with what's gone down these past few years, but I'm prepared to give the Hive a go.

Also, I had a quick chat with the commercial manager after the game. He said it was a completely different atmosphere to the football, when the bar would be empty after the game (we were still going strong 2 hours afterwards).
Also spoke to some newbies who commented on how fast the game was, and how much they enjoyed it.
Rugby League made a good impression on the Hive staff and the Barnet fans. Surely we can all celebrate that.

The Hive's a decent facility, in terms of size much more befitting our requirements.

I'm a bit confused about the bar situation though. Is there another one beyond the one that a few of us (wire quin, sogspurs) hung around in afterwards below the west stand? where is it?

There is the Premier Home bar in the west stand that has entrances opening towards the pitch. There is also the away bar which is only accessible from around the back and is towards the north terrace.

There is also the Hive bar in the East stand which serves the whole complex and not just matchday crowds. Plus there is a bar upstairs in the East stand for those who have hospitality.

What would be great would be a clock on the East Stand wall. If it wasn't for the announcer would have had no idea about how much time was left.

Until Saturday there was no clock on any wall.

Not 100% sure what they are going to do with the East Stand yet. They have planning permission for a balcony and also expect some building work at the south end now they have permission for an extension to hold the medical centre.

My suspicion is that they will use the permission for a balcony at some point to put in some private boxes and a second camera gantry.

Lol, I see what y mean, but you kind of want to have eyes on the pitch and a quick glance at the clock, while the game is in your peripheral vision to see that awesome offload, tackle or hit no?

I have seen Newcastle United have a clock imbedded in one if the advertising boards.

Plus, think it will be good for the players to have an idea of time rather than Coaches shouting the times to them each time.

Btw-Any one know if we will be getting a temporary mobile giant screen for video referee decisions? Like we had at The Stoop? Or is planning permission needed for that as well?
