I watched the Skolars throughout the Quins RL fiasco (Never saw ONE Quins RL game) and to be honest was a little torn when the "Broncos" returned.

I generally get to see half a dozen Broncos games and four or five Skolars games in a season (last season I did better 7 and 5), for which Mbu's Skolars rewarded me with entertaintment and got tantalisingly close to some success and the Broncos.....mmmmm, I guess I don't need to say it.

Quote: jbuzza "We have a club run by buffoons in terminal decline. How is that serving the best long term interests of RL down south ?'"

It's serving it better than not having a club at all. And it would seem that the longer term plan is to increase the involvement of Barnet in it.

I think I preferred the vision of Lenagan and Evans when we became Quins.

Quote: Hedgehog King "I don't imagine that this would annoy them.

I'm not sure why you would do this. If you enjoy watching rugby then buy a season ticket but do it for positive reasons not because you think it will annoy someone that you will probably never meet.'"

The fact that I've been watching the club since its inception means that I do have other reasons to want to buy a ST. However, if this club can succeed I'll be more than happy to reflect on those members of the RL 'family' who have called for our demise.

Me too, but that has little, if anything, to do with the Club now.

Frankly, I've never seen the incompetence of off-field operations as a reason not to encourage friends to come to games. Poor performances on the field, however, have stopped me from bringing people.

Plenty of other clubs doing good for the game in the South.

105,891 fans have flocked to 39 home games under the current administration (2,715). The previous 40 games delivered 139,431 (3,486) and the ones before that when we didn't have cricket administrators flogging curry 168,068 at 42 (4,001).

The attitude of "we can't change it, so why bother trying" is what keeps the current administration in salaried employment although if the decline in numbers at games continues at it's current rate, you and your mates will be the only ones there by 2015 icon_wink.gif

I think I could have fully got behind a link up with Wasps or even Saracens at a stretch.

The trouble is Quins don't only represent all that is wrong with Rugby Union they also represent every thing that is wrong with British life in general.

When Fulham had their best stint, they averaged 6k per game, with no Union involvement.
When the Broncos had their best stint, they averaged 6k per game, albeit renting the Stoop.
I think we have to get off the Union hang-up and demand to know, why and how management of RL in London manage to lose so many fans. Not once, but Twice!
On a positive note, we built up an average 6k support twice before, we CAN do it again, not sure if the present regime is capable of it though, but clearly CAN be done!

Quote: CrusaderPete "I think we have to get off the Union hang-up '"

The Stoop as Harlequins RL (including 2 double headers) delivered 293,255 fans over 79 home games at an average of 3,712 over 6 seasons.
The other 12 seasons (10 before/2 afterwards and including OTR Games) delivered 567,069 to 157 games at an average of 3,612 per game.
The Myth that either the Stoop or the name Harlequins RL damaged our attendances, put off investors and were responsible for the Woes of the club are totally and utterly insane...which explains why Hughes believes it d040.gif

so the Quinns 6 seasons get averaged aout with the previous 10 and the next 2, perhaps you need to go back to school and learn how to do statistics properly, now compare the 6 Quinns seasons with the previous 6 only and study the trend! I don't need to, I was there and saw the crowds drop from 6k to 3k!!!!

And as for the double-headers, do not make me laugh, I had friends who went (Harlequinns fans actually) and they ALL report that most of the crowd left before the RL game when the Union was first and arrived owards the end of the RL game when the Union was second!

Don't knock creative accounting.

I still think we missed a trick by not opening for Lady Gaga at Twickers. icon_wink.gif
