Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Someone from the Broncos seems to be going the those RFL Super League restructuring meetings reading this...
Quote: "Officials from Catalan, Huddersfield, Hull, Hull KR, Warrington and Wigan all left the meeting, with the other eight clubs indicating their support for proposals to reduce the number of clubs in Super League from 14 to 12 from the 2015 season.'" www.loverugbyleague.com/news_136 ... eting.html

The last meeting we were included in clubs who did not accept what The RFL is doing, but we are not included in the 6 clubs today who walked out?
Super League Clubs have to control the elite part of the game, and there can in the future be no members of The RFL senior staff on The Board, Hetherington earlier this week was contradictory, he said he backed The RFL proposals (No real shock) but not the terms for relegation and promotion??? show how weak some of the remaining clubs are inc St Helens, perhaps they were warned they had been given a World Cup game.

| Some more rumour on another boardhttps://m.rlfans.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f
Re: London gone
My friend who is now a former employee of London Broncos sent me this yesterday
" No i am no longer with Broncos. The club has informally liquidated. Which means they will move forward as London Broncos but will move to North London (Barnet) under a new owner. Players (other than handful of academy products and matt cook, who was also an LB academy product),performance staff and admin staff will all move on. The club have managed or are in the process of paying off redundancies with David Hughes' millions. The RFL will take on the academy which costs around £300'000. The only 2 people to move forward with the club are the two people at the very source of London Broncos failings..Tony Rea and Angus Mackay."
to which i put how can they be in super league next season with no players
"Well the club is currently in advanced and crucial stages of meeting at the minute with the rfl and the owner of barnet fc. I have been lead to believe that the club will move forward on a small budget next year (under a mill) and play mostly young kids and a as many aussies as they can get. Tony Rea is currently asking for exemption of aussies like 'the old days' so the club can be competitive. He has also asked for exemption from relegation for the 'foreseeable' future to entice the barnet chairman to invest. You are not in a time warp, i did just say that and Tony Rea is seriously asking those questions. It is actually a joke.
The former head of youth Phil Jones has been there 15yrs and has grown the sport to a level you wouldn't believe. The amount of schools and kids in general playing it is phenomenal. And this crop of kids coming through now like McMeeken, Dixon, Sarginson, Krasnqi etc are the first group who have grown uo with rugby league and are actual fans of the game; not just 'Athletes' who have been transformed into rugby league players. Howver the clubs insistence to keep employing Tony Rea in various roles who has never put one long term plan in place throughout his 15yr allegiance with the club has killed it. Along with the current CEO who has no former rugby league experience or even interest and has been sacked from sussex cc and surrey cc in similar roles. As it stands, Phil Jones is returning to Warrington and the two clowns are moving forward. Sad to see. Again, wrong people in the wrong positions."

| It perhaps seemed obvious that is why yesterday the club did not have conviction to vote against The RFL, if the future plans are correct as stated it is going to see the slow death of the club for one more season
The loss of Phil Jones is serious, he has done such a good job with the production of youth in London, how the RFL are allowing this, but do they really care?
I have even more serious concerns for the club, in fact the game itself, the weakness of such as Hetherington, McManus and Koukash is so clear, they are far too close to the RFL, Clubs yesterday should have stood together like in 1895, and formed their own Premiership, controlling their own League, while still remaining members of the RFL, but not controlled by them! Super League can no longer carry on as it is, the lack of competence and leadership at the RFL is shocking, would any company with a board or shareholders allow such total incompetence?

Unbelievable but I expect to be close to the truth. The question I would ask who in their right mind in the current SL would vote for a system of relegation and at the same time suggest 1 club is exempt. Bizarre and embarrassing.

| I support a Championship club -Doncaster who have had financial problems in the past.
It would be better for London to start off in Championship 1 next season with their youngsters & build up gradually. This way the new club will gain some credibility which they haven't got now !

Hetherington who is leading the attacks on the six clubs who walked out yesterday, claims he fully backs the Nigel Wood proposals, but then goes on to day that he does not back the conventional promotion & relegation in the plan?

| Much of the info posted earlier today tallies with what I have heard about why the seemingly agreed deal collapsed.
Will be interesting to see if we do get exemptions given it had already been agreed we wouldn't
Phil Jones is a huge loss, best wishes to him if he is off.

| I'm not sure I could continue supporting the club if they were exempt from relegation. I have too much respect for the game and other clubs to support that.

A few weeks ago I'd have shot you down for saying that, but given where we are now I reckon you might be right.

| I very nearly said that too but decided to wait and see what happens. If we are given exemptions Oxford may well be my first team next year.
